Canker sores generally occur on the gums or inside your mouth. They are very painful but are not the cause of any severe damage. They take a couple of weeks to heal and often cure on their own.
Here are a few remedies you can use to soothe them and heal them faster.
#1. Use Alum Powder
Alum powder contains a lot of potassium aluminum sulfate. It is very effective on canker sores as it dries out the sores. You can crush it into powder form, make a paste out of it, or directly apply it to the affected area. Keep it for some time and rinse it using cold water. Repeat this daily, and soon it will soothe as well as heal the area.

#2. Salt Water Rinse
Regularly doing a salt water rinse can dry out the area that has canker sores and increases the rate of healing. This process may prove to be a little painful but will surely heal the sore. It is the the most viable option and is sure to provide relief.

#3. Honey
Applying honey to the area will create a soothing effect and also heals. Honey has antiseptic and antibacterial properties which prevent the unwanted bacteria to breed. You can also mix honey with turmeric which will make it even more effective, as both honey and turmeric have antiseptic properties.

#4. Coconut Oil
According to researchers, applying coconut oil to canker sores will prevent it from spreading further. It is also a very suitable soothing agent.

#5. Aloe Vera
You can choose to use Aloe Vera juice or directly apply fresh aloe vera gel from the leaves on the canker sores. Aloe vera has both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which make it one of the best cure for canker sores.

#6. Coriander
Coriander is loaded with all the three benefits of being anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antiseptic properties that can substantially help to reduce the pain and discomfort associated with canker sores.

#7. Baking Soda
Dilute baking soda in water and swirl the solution in your mouth, follow it by rinsing your mouth. A regular, repeated practice of this will definitely provide relief.

#8. There are many things you can do to soothe canker sores, which includes eating soft food that you can easily swallow, drinking cold fluids such as iced tea. Avoid eating spicy food and drinking coffee as well as citric fruit juices.
#9. Another important thing to keep in mind is the fact that you must brush carefully. Make sure the bristles do not touch those areas of the mouth where the canker sores are present.
#10. Make sure you cut your food into tiny bits, so that they do not constantly touch the canker sores. Also, always use straw for consumption of fluids, this will make sure it does not come in contact with the canker sores, thus reducing the discomfort.
