How many Calories does Sex actually Burn?

Does sex burn calories? According to scientists, sex actually burns a good number of calories. But, is it true? The answer is quite a conundrum. A recent study suggests that doing sex in a certain way can help invoke hormones to melt fat effectively and quickly.

How Many Calories Do You Burn Having Sex?

A group from the University of Montreal, underwent a test wherein they compared the two activities- running and sex where they found out the calorie expenditure in both activities to test the theory, and the results were in favor of 'athletic running.' Although, the outcome of the result showed that men lost 276 calories, and women burnt 213 with running, but on the other hand, men burnt 101 calories, and women burnt 69 with sex in just a span of 30 minutes. On an average, men burnt 4.2 calories per minute, and women lost 3.1 calories in one minute.  This surprising test is a proof that a hot steamy session of 30 minutes is enough to get rid of the stubborn fat accumulated in your body, given you indulge in the act of lovemaking every single day. 

Calculating Calories Burned During Sex

Concluding from the study by the University of Montreal, the number of calories burnt by an individual while having sex is equivalent to the average calories lost during sex in a minute. It is 4.2 in case of men and 3.1 in case of women according to the study by the University of Montreal which is then,  multiplied by the number of minutes one had sex (the duration of sex in a minute) for. So, according to this method, in around one hour, men and women can burn approximately 202 and 138 calories respectively.

How To Burn More Calories During Sex?

#1. Go Longer

The longer the duration, more calories you burn. It is quite obvious as all the previous studies were based on 30 minutes test. However, the problem is, according to some studies, the lust for love doesn't last more than 6 minutes.

#2. Set The Temperature High

The scientific theory for weight loss says, "The warmer it is, the more weight you lose, " and the same applies to exercise. Turn of all the cooling devices, keep the room warm while you're making love with your partner. The more you sweat, the better it is".
