There are many ways to lose weight in a few days. One of the easiest way to lose weight is to count your steps per day. The number of steps you take each day, the more calories you burn. More calories burnt means more weight loss. 

You can count your steps per day by using a pedometer. There are many apps available for counting the steps you take each day. If you want to lose weight in few days, start counting your steps and manage your calories.

Average Steps Per Day

On an average, an American adult takes up to 5000 steps per days. This is more in other countries like Australia and India. Here, an average person takes about 9600 steps per day. In Japan, the steps per day average around 7000 steps.

How Many Steps Per Day To Lose Weight

Health organizations recommend an average of 10,000 steps per day for a fit and healthy lifestyle. It is recommended that you take an average of 10,000 steps if you want to lose weight. This goal may seem very far off for people who take an average of 5000 steps per day. But you should not be discouraged and try to increase your steps per day. If you want to lose weight  quickly,  you could do the following things:

#. Find ways to incorporate more walking into your day. You could take the stairs instead of the elevator.

#. Go up to a colleague to talk about something, instead of emailing them.

#. Reduce the size of meals. This means take the same amount of food but in a smaller plate. It creates an illusion that you are taking up way too much food. Once you realize this, your diet will decrease. This helps in managing weight and the calories.

Some Basic Math

The math behind the number of steps per day and weight loss can be understood through this:

1 Mile = 2112 steps

1 Mile walked = 100 calories burned

So, you need to manage your calories and your steps per day. If you want to lose weight fast, you also need to do some strength training. This will give you an extra boost and help you burn off those calories faster. Strength training  is also essential because it helps in losing weight, maintaining a fast metabolism and a healthy body.
