It has enormous energy that clears all your emotional clutter. And this way you even free your mind from becoming a prisoner that traps poisonous thoughts. You avoid overthinking and harm yourself at a lower level by practicing the acts of forgiveness.
So, even if you don't like the person who hurt you, it is best to forgive them and move over the toxic thoughts. Come to terms with the fact that the negative thoughts can never relax your mind; they would just contribute to even more anxious surroundings. Therefore, understand the power of forgiveness and end your personal struggles. And just take the necessary steps to save you from any kind of abuse.
Seek for resolution and give up on the need of taking revenge. You never know what struggle is the offender facing which triggered their unacceptable behavior. Just concentrate on enhancing your own self, meditate, relax and implement the practice of self-care. And in case you don't know how to adopt the aspect of forgiving someone, here is what you can do!
#1. Change Your Perception
Accept what the person has done in a particular circumstance. Recognize that you could not control what happened but you can definitely manage what will happen in the present moment and in future. You should keep a check on your personal behavior and how you need to react in the situation. Recall that even you might have done the same with someone, intentionally or by mistake.
Everyone makes mistakes, and therefore you should forgive the one who has hurt you. Of course, such an understanding would not occur instantly. But you still need to keep working on it. Change your perception, let go the resentment and focus on other priorities. Sooner or later, it will happen and you will realize how important it is to overlook someone's mistakes.

Your morals might not allow forgiving the person but personally, you need to do that to move ahead in life. Just examine the bigger picture and deal accordingly.
#3. Let Time Heal The Scars
It is not necessary to force yourself into making the decision to forgive someone who has hurt you. Just let time take its call. Sometimes that is the best you can do. Give the other person some time to realize their mistake or just give time to yourself and get out of the complicated circumstances.

You might even gain a greater perspective of the entire picture with time. And it is only when the time passes that you comprehend on other people's words. Stay on your own for as long as you think its fine for you. Time is precious, so do not waste it on things that would not even matter a month later. Instead, spend it on healing your disturbed stability.
#4. Talk To The Person
Maybe time doesn't heal the scars of your disturbing past, however, it is always a great idea to talk to a mature person and understand the effect. Let the conversation stay as neutral as possible and try to maintain your cool. Do not burst on the other person with anger or frustration, but delicately handle the situation. You are there to find a solution, don't create any further mess. If you think you might not be comfortable in facing the person who has hurt you, then just don't hesitate in writing down the questions you want to put forward.

When you are calm, you can think of all those possible things that you want to ask in a much cautious manner. But there are high chances of ruining it all when you are confronting the person and you might say something even more offensive. Express your feelings in the appropriate way and even listen to their part. Because that is essential for getting to a sensible conclusion. You never know everything ends with compassion and you even learn the aspect of forgiving someone.
#5. Stop Getting Offended
It is significant enough to have faith in your personal beliefs. You might be one of those who easily gets provoked at just any occasion or by anyone. But that's not the real you! Do not delve into getting exasperated by signals that are pointing towards you, they are a mere sign for being strong enough to take things on a lighter note. It shows that you have chosen yourself above all in a situation where people actually bother you, but you feel at ease regardless of the situation. And when you practice peace, you find it possible to not get affected by the words of others.

You are the one who is self-sufficient.
Creating any perceptions for others is just getting you below the ordinary levels of awareness. But when you aren't spending time on hunting for opportunities to get offended, you are actually spending your time in other meaningful activities. Your thoughts are within your control and you can aptly put the energy into doing things that help you to achieve your goals.

And this transformation might be related to your personality that doesn't believe in revenge, but believes in the power of forgiveness.
#7. Kindness Before Righteousness
The world is and will be the way it is. What you can change is your individual personality.
