The main ingredient of sweet and sour pork is pork, which is clear from the name. The dish is sweet and sour in taste, and has a bright orange-red color.
There are many other variants of the dish which were prepared to meet the custom demands of the consumer. In one of the variant, chicken is used as a substitute, while in others, people use ingredients such as beef, and pork ribs.

#2. Gong Bao Chicken
If you ever been to China, or ever had dinner in any Chinese restaurant that serves authentic Chinese recipes, you would be aware of the fact that the Sichuan recipes are quite popular in China. The Sichuan-style Gong Bao Chicken is a very renowned Chinese cuisine, served almost in every Chinese restaurant in the world. The essential ingredient of this dish is diced chicken, dried chili, and fried peanuts.
If you move to Western countries, they have a very different version of this dish. The Western-style Gong is made of diced chicken which is covered with cornstarch. They also add vegetables, sweet and sour sauce, and mashed garlic in their version of Gong Bao Chicken.

Chow Mein or Chow Mein is the one of the traditional Chinese food. Chinese people tend to have a vegetarian list of food and a non-vegetarian list of food; only chow mien can fit in both list. The non-vegetarian chow mien contains meat (pork, beef, or chicken) along with noodles. However, the vegetarian chow mein is made with vegetables like carrots, beans, ginger, and garlic.

Whether you are in China, India, USA, or any other country which is already inhabited by Chinese restaurants, you'll find spring rolls and their variants in the menu. The spring rolls can be cooked with non-vegetarian or vegetarian ingredients depending on the person. The veg spring rolls mainly consist of vegetables, whereas, the non-veg spring rolls consists of meat. The rolls are deep-fried in hot oil after they are stuffed with ingredients to spice up your taste buds.

There are restaurants in China who makes their noodles spontaneously, whereas, the other restaurants use the factory made noodles. The authentic way to cook chow mein is by boiling it in hot water for a while before stir-frying it.

Dumplings are one of the most popular Chinese food recipes, mainly due to the long history of 1880 years. Dumplings are widely popular among people of North China. In some of the countries like India and Nepal, the dumplings are known as "Momos." The dumplings consist of minced meat (pork, diced shrimp, beef, or chicken) wrapped in thin dough. There are three ways you can cook dumplings: steam, boil, and fry. While some people prefer fried dumplings, others like the steamed ones.
