What is Autism? How to Treat it?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a severe medical condition that hinders a proper development of the brain of a kid, thus leaving a tremendous impact on his/her personal and social life.

Autistic children find it extremely hard to socialize. They don’t feel comfortable talking to other people, especially strangers. Interaction is a critical issue that they face. As a result, they have to face several other problems, while growing up, in school and college.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for autism. But, early therapy and treatment can make a huge difference in the life of a child. In this article, we shall see the causes and symptoms of autism, along with some medical treatments and therapies. Take a look:

How Do You Get Autism?

ASD doesn’t have a single known cause. But it is an incredibly complex disorder, and a lot of genetic and environmental factors can trigger autism in a kid.

Genetic Causes: Like a lot of other disorders, genetics can be a huge cause of autism. The Rett syndrome or the fragile X factor is perhaps the most common genetic issue that leads to autism in a child. Even certain genetic mutations can have a role in a child being autistic.

Environmental Causes: While environmental causes of autism are yet to be found, researchers believe that air pollutants, viral infections, and other complications during pregnancy can cause autism.

Symptoms Of Autism

Like we discussed above, autism has a severe impact on a child’s social life. Among many other symptoms, the most common symptoms of autism are:

#1. A child fails to respond when his/her name is being called. You may feel that the child is not paying attention to you.

Signs Of Autism

Apart from these symptoms, autistic children often portray a particular pattern of behavior. For instance, if the child performs repetitive movements of the head, perform self-harming acts, is hyper-sensitive to light, sound, and touch. These patterns point towards the possibility of autism in a child.

Treatment Of Autism

Unfortunately, autism doesn’t have a cure, and medical science can’t tell a particular way to treat autism. However, that doesn’t mean that you lose hope. There are many things you can do for your autistic child, including several therapies. Apart from that, remember to always shower as much love as you can on your autistic child. Doctors say, your love is the best treatment for autism. Speaking of medical therapies for autism, we have selected some of the most efficient ones. Take a look:

#1. Behavior And Communication Therapy

A child’s ability to communicate, and behave in a certain way is most affected by autism. So, the best recourse would be to get your child to talk slowly. The best way to do that would be bond with your child in something he/she loves doing. You can initiate a conversation with them, and continue it over a period of time. Therapies take time, so you need to be patient.

People think that Autism is a genetic- disorder and it cannot be cured. It is a myth, which has to be busted. The reason that we are seeing the growing rates of autism is that it’s a systematic disorder. This happens because of toxic environment. Every autistic person has its own causes and triggers that have generated it. The amino acid which detoxifies the brain, and helps it to work normally, gets depleted in those who are affected. If you apply certain rules to cure this treatment, it might be helpful for you.

-Take off gluten food from your diet.

-Killing off small bacteria from the small intestine with the help of anti-bacterial medicine.

-Add zinc, magnesium, folate, Vitamin A, B6, B12, and D.

These are some of the tested method on an autistic patient named Sam by Mark Hyman MD is the Director of Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Functional Medicine, the Founder of The UltraWellness Center.
