Medical Billing and Coding are closely related. Both of these involve important reimbursement cycles. They ensure that health care providers are paid for their services. Medical billing involves extraction of information from the medical coder and making a bill for the insurance company. The medical biller uses these codes which depict the patients’ visit, symptoms that they had, the doctors’ diagnosis and what was their opinion on the patient’s symptoms. These medical codes contain all of this and more information about the patient. There are a number of special software for medical billing and coding. The medical biller sends all this information in codes to the insurance company, who then evaluate and returns the codes. After the insurance is taken out, the biller estimates how much the patient owes and prepares the bill accordingly.
