What makes Dubai such an Expensive City?

It was hardly three decades ago, that Dubai was assumed to have died and not survive in the longer run. The city wasn't really significant and nothing more than a desert land. Today, it's a progressing center that's intended and developed by the rich towards the riches. In particular, why is Dubai so rich? The extravagant destination accumulates its wealth from the oil and gold industries along with the prosperous ports and airlines. But is Dubai a good place to live?

Yes, it is. But unless you can afford shopping from designer boutiques or luxury yacht trips, it comes under your regular budget. And why is Dubai so expensive? The skylines appropriately represent Dubai's overall grandeur.

#1. Infrastructure

A wonder in itself, Palm Island in Dubai, is one of the examples and Burj Khalifa is another that represents the lavishness of the city. Structures in Dubai top with engineering excellence and you might just not be able to match the lifestyle of those Arabs/ Sheikhs.

#2. Sand, sand, and sand

Special kinds of sand are imported from other places to the deserts of Dubai. It appeals to the richer and adds to the cost. There are more than seven types of sand varieties in Dubai.

#3. It's A King's Place

The kings of the jungles and the kings of Dubai both come together to make Dubai not only a bizarre land but also expensive. Their passion for petting the exotic costs them quite a massive fortune. They don't go the mainstream way, and anything that make's the Arabs stand out from the rest is what Dubai is known of.

#4. Real Estate

Properties in Dubai keep lying empty unless the owner doesn't really find a buyer who is willing to pay the cost asked for. Owners are indifferent to the market changes, and their massive villas stay partially or completely barren because they do not compromise with the rates. And it's actually the real estate sector development that has led to a boom in the country's economy.

#5. Gold That Glitters

There's nothing that Arabs cannot afford. There isn't just the oil and gas money that comes in but also the flashiness of pure gold luxury Audi cars, diamond studded Mercedes and not to forget on-the-go gold ATM machines. Yes, they dispense gold bricks right away.

#6. Education

The educational expenses do not come cheap in Dubai. The cost is pretty high, and you won't really find any affordable schools throughout the city. Education might just seem to be another luxury here. The high cost of living in Dubai gets the rate even higher.

#7. Taxes

There is no taxation system in Dubai. However, the same compensates with other relatable expenses. There are several hidden costs even after the city being tax-free. There is some point of a fee that one has to pay for everything.

Dubai might be a well-curated capitalism, however, the wealth of the families here are far less than the ones in Abu Dhabi. Families are supported by a rich government that makes their situation quite stable. But why is Abu Dhabi so rich? And how did they do it? They have progressive environmental achievements, there are several travel and tourism programs, it attracts far more competition and manages a low inflation rate.

But do you think all that glitters is gold? All that's shown in the media does not always have to be true. Government and media like to keep the city's image forever rich, and so the communication is always under control. It's not anymore a city, but a brand that markets an aura everyone is envious of.
