Rabindranath Tagore, popularly known as Gurudeva, or the Bard of Bengal was a pioneer in Bengali literature. Tagore, with his contextual modernism, brought a revolution in the world of Bengali music and literature. The literary genius even went on to win Nobel Prize in Literature in the year 1913 for his collection of poems, Gitanjali.
Asserting his versatility as an artist, Tagore provided a profound insight into the society with various short stories, novels, essays, songs, plays, and paintings. His artistic works continue to inspire the masses even today. Here are some of the most remarkable works of the revolutionary artist:-
#1. Gitanjali
One of the best works of Tagore, Gitanjali is a collection of 157 poems. The themes of the poems vary from nature and spirituality to complexities of human emotions. Some of the popular poems from the collection are- 'Where the Mind is Without Fear', 'Leave This', 'Let Me Not Forget', 'Last Curtain', and 'Freedom'.

#2. Galpaguchccha
A popular collection of eight stories by Rabindranath Tagore, Galpagucchaccha revolves around the lives of the rural population of Bengal while dealing with issues like poverty and illiteracy.

#3. Gitabitan
Being a skilled songwriter, Tagore even went on to write a total number of 2230 songs which are popularly known as Rabindra Sangeeth. The songs were compiled in a magnificent book titled Gitabitan.

#4. Ghare Baire
Translated into the English language as The Home And The World, the novel represents the combat between the western ideology and a sense of cultural rootedness. The novel provides a deep insight into the history of Bengal.

#5. Shesher Kabita
Shesher Kabita or The Last Poem is an indispensable part of Bengali literature. The novel was first published in a magazine as a series and was later published as a book in the year 1929.
