Podcast videos are more about audio blogs that can be both short as well as long. The visual aspect is not present, but the convenience of audio aspect definitely exists. Podcast blogs are available on particular websites that support this format and content. For instance, RSS, iTunes or Zune are some of those platforms where you can find a podcast.

Vlogs

Vlogs or a vlogging blog is a video blog that is used for videographical purposes. It is actually a shot video of the narrator discussing a certain topic. Vlogs are interactive, short in length and get across the information in a much better and engaging manner. The audience feels like the narrator is actually interacting with them. Vlogs require the viewer's attention and these cannot be seen anywhere or everywhere. Videos, of course, have the limitation of keeping the viewer's place restricted. Even though vlogs don't go beyond 10 - 15 minutes, yet one just needs to sit at one place and watch them. However, it's a trendy concept, and almost every blogger prefers making a vlog video to connect with their audience.

The person who creates them is usually the one presenting his/ her opinion. These are scheduled on a regular basis or depending upon the personal requirement. These can be shared on any social media platform, so the reach just expands. Everything is scripted to a certain level, and it's all a matter of playing with the visuals.

Which is a better medium depends upon what is your individual requirement? Should I vlog or podcast depends on the way you want to connect with your audience. It also depends on who is your target audience, what kind of content you would want to share, can you vocalize your content or can you put forward impactful visuals are a few things that you must consider before opting for any medium. However, when the audience is considered, not everyone is equal, and no two people prefer the same medium at the same time.
