6 Reasons Why Women Never Make The First Move

An old fashioned rule says that it is the man who should always take the lead and make the first move. The only qualm with that rule is that there is nothing old fashioned about the present times. The dynamics of romance and relationship have vastly changed. People make their own rules and do what makes them comfortable.

From live-ins to one-night-stands, everything is part of the deal then why is that it is still the men who always make the first move and what prevents women from asking a man out. Here are some reasons why:

#1. The Chase Is Better Than Being The Pursuer:

Women like the chase and men find it thrilling. The start of a relationship all depends on a ‘yes’ to the first date. Women feel special when a guy would go to any lengths to make them agree to go out with him. A role reversal would have her chasing a guy making him agree to go out with him which would be all too easy.

#2. They Don’t Want To Be Deemed Aggressive

Society has already assigned everyone roles and women are supposed to be the shy, non-aggressive kind. Even if they don’t follow that role in other spheres of their life, women prefer their man to be the one taking in the lead in matters of love and sex. Often women who are very forward in dating and asking a man out are considered aggressive.

#3. Women Don’t Like To Look Desperate

One reason that prevents women from asking a man out despite being totally into him is that they fear to look desperate. This trait again arises from the rule that is set in stone that men need to make the first move. Hence, females tend to throw obvious signals towards the guy they like but won’t toe the line and ask him out. Men certainly don’t help the situation by acting surprised and shocked when asked out by a woman instead of acknowledging her real interest in you that had her bending rules.

#4. To Make Men Feel Masculine

More often it is the men who are the primary reason why women hesitate to make the first move. Men are quite touchy about their masculinity and easily feel emasculated if a women step out of her generation assigned role and actually asks them out. They feel that it is against the norm and it questions the age-old idea of masculinity where it’s always the men who approach a woman and woman suddenly not being passive doesn’t sit well with them.

#5. Fear Of Rejection

Nobody likes to be in a vulnerable state, especially not women. Asking someone out means that the fear of rejection looms large on your head. Women do not like that sort of uncertainty, and they are happy with a guy approaching them where they get to make the decision of saying yes or declining the guy in question. It is way safer and fun to be the object of desire rather than to desire someone else.

#6. Women Like Attention

This should not certainly come as news to anyone. Women love attention, they love to have all eyes on them, and they love being pampered. If a guy asks them out, it makes them feel special, and when he showers them with attention, they love every moment of it. If the roles are reversed, and it’s the women who ask a man out, then she would certainly not get her share of attention and pampering she wants.
