Companies outsource jobs for various reasons. The basic need is to get cheap labour and more profit.
India has become an outsourcing hub for many multinational companies. This is because most of the companies find the Indian soil cheaper. They can employ skilled professional at a much lesser payroll than they can in their country.
The idea of outsourcing jobs by companies is not unacceptable as it creates job opportunities in a country but, then, it's the duty of the companies that are outsourcing to maintain a healthy work culture in those places where they have outsourced their jobs. It's also the duty of the Government of that country to make sure that the labour laws are implemented properly in these multinational companies.
The number of BPOs and KPOs are just mushrooming in India and it's from here that unethical office culture codes have spread to pollute other Indian workplaces. People from our family are working in multinational companies that outsource jobs and BPOs where often they complain of forced overtime duties; promotion based on favouritism and worst of all payment irregularities without any explanation. These unethical practices can only be stopped if the labour laws in our country are enforced on this companies as well as monitored properly by the government officials.
If companies fail to find skilled professionals in their country or locality then they have every right to outsource the job and get their work done in order to prevent loss. However, they do not have the right to deprive their employees as well as freelancers of their rights or cheat them regarding their dues.
Many companies outsource content writing work to freelancers and take some work as the sample without paying them. The freelance writer uses his time, energy and internet cost without any reward. Such type of cyber crime should be handled with a tough hand by the government. Companies should be allowed to outsource jobs but only if they abide by the rule laid down by the government.
