Critics Review

The Man Who Invented Christmas recounts the otherworldly trip that prompted the making of Ebenezer Scrooge (Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and other exemplary characters from A Christmas Carol. Directed by Bharat Nalluri (MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY), the movie demonstrates how Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens) blended genuine motivations with his distinctive creative ability to evoke exceptional characters and an ageless story, everlastingly changing the Christmas season into the festival we know today. In October 1843, Charles Dickens, after the disappointment of his last three books and confronting dismissal by his distributers, he chooses to compose and independently publish a book trusting that it would resuscitate his profession.
