Yahoo and Ymail: All You Need To Know About The Email Giants

Bringing in a major change, Yahoo Mail permitted its loyal users to sign in with a different domain name of ymail.com in the year 2008.

Not only did this lure the new users to having a better email ID, but it is also letting its existing pool of users to experiment their IDs. Many are also of the belief that ymail.com was a jab at the popular gmail.com.

Well, despite being a part of Yahoo software, the two domains have some fundamental differences. Here is how ymail.com is similarly different from yahoo.com.

What Makes Ymail Similar To Yahoo Mail

#1. Just An Alternative

A decade ago, with the advent of ymail.com, the numerous users were perplexed and apprehensive concerning the new e-mail domain. However, the name ymail.com was just an alternative to the popular mail domain yahoo.com. The users will still be working on a similar platform despite using a different e-mail address.

#2. Same Features And Ownership

The domains ymail.com and yahoo.com have the same ownership and are headed by Yahoo. The two mailboxes even have a similar number of features when it comes to managing your inbox. Ergo, with the ymail, users can stick back to the mailing experience they have been used to while using a fresh email ID.

What Makes Ymail And Yahoo Mail Different

#1. Fresh E- mail IDs

Since yahoo.com has a large number of users, millions of users have taken almost every e-mail ID option, and the new users have to stick to complicated e- mail addresses instead. However, ymail.com, despite being a part of Yahoo Mail, does not record the e-mail IDs that are created using yahoo.com and provides the users with various simpler ID options.

#2. Page Direction

As erroneously expected by many, searching yahoo.com will not give the same result as entering ymail.com in your search box. This is despite the fact that both the domains are using the same Yahoo software. If you type in yahoo.com, you will be directed to the main news site of Yahoo. However, if you search for ymail.com, you will be redirected to the login page of Yahoo.
