Happy National Running Day. For the last several years, the first Wednesday in June has been a day for the running community to unite and celebrate their love of running!
Running has multiple benefits. It ensures in the proper functioning of your metabolism, it makes you sweat more, keeps your skin clean and in general, runners have a lesser tendency of developing bone-related diseases in their older years. Running is a must-have exercise in a state where 3/4 of the population is either overweight or obese. What better way to get rid of obesity!
So as the United States celebrates National Running Day, here are a few things that you can do to celebrate the day and take a step forward towards a better and healthy life:
Sign Up For A Race
There perhaps is no better day of committing yourself into participating in a race nearby. There might be some races happening in your locality. So make sure, you sign up for at least one of them and take full advantage of the holiday. Take not only a step but a lot of steps towards a healthy life.

Forget The Watch
Many scientists believe that you should leave your watch at your place before running. Watches are considered to create an unnecessary inhibition in a runner’s mind and might shift a runner’s priority. So don’t keep track of time. Just run, as much as you can, as long as you can.
Invest In A New Shoe Instead
Even if you just got a shiny new pair of kicks, the chances are high that your favorite brand is dishing out discounts for National Running Day. Stock up and make sure your closet is full for the rest of the year. This might just act as an added motivation to make you leave your home and just run.

Run With A Non-Runner
As a social person, it becomes our moral responsibility to urge people we care for in taking up better things in life. Head over to someone like that, and just ask them to come along with you for a little run. You never know, you might just get a life-long running buddy if your non-runner friend liked it!

When you run with your four-legged friend, he gets just as many health benefits as you do. What's more, running with your dog is a great way for you to bond and an easy way to stay safe on the road.
