The name Armenia which a lot of us first came across in the Holy Bible is a small country. Before the declaration of its independence, the country was a part of the Soviet Union, called Armenian SSR for 70 years. The country officially became Independent from USSR in the year 1990. This gave birth to the Third Republic of Armenia. For the people of Armenia, their country is not just a territory; it is holy ground.

A referendum was held which stated that the full independence of Armenia was declared in 1991. Following the creation of the Third Republic of Armenia, the country went onto receive international recognition and several states started developing diplomatic relationships with the country.
