History
Gonzaga University was founded back in 1881 when Jesuit priests were it's in charge. Originally, it only served young men who were looking to become priests. It is named after Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, who refused his tremendous inheritance and chose to join the Society of Jesus to work for people suffering from the plague. The private school still boasting its Jesuit roots is open today for men as well as women helping them create great careers in a variety of fields.

For those, who are wondering where is Gonzaga University, the answer is the Spokane city in the eastern part of Washington state. It is about 281 miles or a 4.5-hour drive from the city of Seattle. Sports
Perhaps the most popular aspect of the university is its sports teams, especially the men’s basketball team. After making its National Collegiate Athletic Association or NCAA debut in the year 1995, it took home the trophy just a few years later in 1999. This year, they made their 20th tournament appearance and their 19th consecutive one. Many students from the school’s basketball program have made careers in the sport like Adam Morrison and the Hall of Famer John Stockton. Though it has ended its football program many decades ago, it also boasts creating two Pro Football Hall of Fame players, Ray Flaherty and Tony Canadeo.
Courses
Choosing to study at Gonzaga, you can pick from 43 different majors in undergraduate programs. The school offers graduate students to pursue master’s degree in 26 different courses. The 152-acre campus is currently home to 7572 students who have enrolled during the academic year 2016-2017.
