When we hear the word ‘alien’ the first thought that pops into our mind is a weird-looking creature from another planet with huge eyes on a small face peering at us. Alien means any person residing in a foreign country. As long as they aren’t the citizens of that country, they are aliens. In that case, I’m quite sure many of us must have seen them.
You don’t have to travel outer space to see them. Just look around you! And what do you name a person who belongs to an enemy country and resides in India? An enemy alien!! Do you think it is so hard to believe in aliens if we believe in this perspective? I don’t think so. Even you will be an alien if you belong to one country and are residing in another country.
But, do I sincerely believe in the existence of extra-terrestrial life or ‘aliens’ in short?
Let me take you back a span of few thousand century years ago. Why do you think life originated only on earth and not on any other planet? Factors like distance from the sun and favorable conditions helped in the origin of life and thriving of unicellular organisms on earth.
Evolution of unicellular organisms into multi-cellular took place next, and the rest is history. This is the scenario of our own solar system which is found in the milky-way galaxy. Now, the gamut of our universe has millions of similar regimes. Despite the advancement in space technology, we still have many obstacles to tackle and limitations to access of complete knowledge.
So, if we say that life exists only on earth, it is nothing but our stupid ego and narrow-mindedness. Just because we haven’t got any hard or conclusive proof, that does not mean life can’t exist anywhere else. Recently, we had discovered the presence of unicellular organisms on planet Mars. So for us, even those organisms are aliens as they do not belong to the Earth.
We have heard of many sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects, especially in U.S.A. Even if they exist, seriously do you think they would waste their time and come to earth? Then why had we not discovered any other life existence, in the first place?
Man’s ever insatiable needs and greed had already been witnessed by history and we do know about the colonial consequences. So, naturally, my belief is, it is those aliens that should feel threatened as we would have tried to seize their planet and make them our slaves. The film “Avatar” underlines the above said statement.
Aliens exist. Life exists. And I’m quite sure, like us, they will be leading their domestic lives and just like us pondering whether life exists beyond their planet. I believe in aliens or extra-terrestrial life. What about you?
