Girls Trip

If 'Hangover' is the boy's version of a fun trip, Malcolm D Lee's 'Girl's Trip' will act as a guide to all the women who are intending to go on a holiday with their female best friends. The comedy movie narrates the goofy yet adventures tales of the four ladies who embark on a journey of rediscovering their wild side as they travel from New Orleans to the Annual Essence Festival. Thus, from dancing, singing to exploring their sexuality, gear up to watch the ladies have some fun.

The New York Times

Like most movies of this comic ilk, including the male-centric “Hangover” types, “Girls Trip” is effectively a narrative striptease. It adds complexity to the picture by bringing in class, even as it dispatches with whiteness, showing it the door so that these women can find themselves while rediscovering the power and pleasures of sisterhood.

The Guardian

Girls Trip turns a familiar formula into something funny, fresh and hugely charming. There’s a refreshing focus on female friendship over romance, the script refusing to lazily match the women with love interests as it boasts a smart sex-positive tone and a still all-too-rare emphasis on the importance of career and the benefits of being single.

Deadline

Call it a smoother Rough Night, a black Bridesmaids, an all-female Hangover. Whatever label you put on Girls Trip doesn’t matter. It is the knock-out funniest comedy of 2017 in terms of laughs per minute. Sit in an audience with this thing and you just might miss half the dialogue over the consistent roars from the crowd.

TIME

Throughout 'Girl's Trip' all, the four ladies laugh, scream and mime unbelievably dirty sex acts. But the overall mood is one of joy and catharsis rather than self-inflicted debasement. This is a girls’-night-out comedy that doesn’t leave you feeling depleted and insulted. Girls Trip has tall shoes to fill, and it never stumbles.
