While 18,000 judges tackle over 3.2 crores cases in various courts in India, for each case there are individuals and their families who wait for justice. A well know statement of "Justice delayed is justice denied" has no relevance in Indian judicial system. Mr. T.S. Thakur is absolutely justified when he points out that the numbers of judges are far less than what is required, but this doesn't answer the inefficient and inadequate court proceedings conducted by existing judges. Even for simple issues the judges often don't take decision and there is not enough accountability on existing judges conclude matters in their court.
