The highly awaited movie of the year, Baywatch featured A-List stars such as Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfnesh Hadera and Priyanka Chopra. The star-studded cast though failed to impress the audience. The movie clashed with Marvel’s Wonder Woman and that also affected its box office collection.

The word disaster fits quite perfectly to describe Baywatch’s box office collection in India which could barely cross a mark of 5 crores over the weekend.

The collected star power of the impressive star cast combined with cameos from former Baywatch stars, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson didn’t suffice to generate much interest in the audience. The movie grossed a disappointing $36 million in the U.S. which is way less than its budget which was $70 million.
The performance by the star cast failed to impress the critics but Priyanka Chopra did manage to gain a few mixed reviews, some appreciated her role as Victoria Leeds, a drug peddler who is classy and menacing with added doses of hilarious dramatics, while others weren’t quite impressed.

The movie earned 1.50 Crore on its opening weekend in India.
