Hasmukh Patel aka Paresh Rawal is a moderate Gujarati, and the proprietor of a staple shop abhors Punjabis. Yet, as predetermination would have it, Guggi Tandon aka Rishi Kapoor a colorful Punjabi second-hand auto merchant comes to live in the Gujju society close to Patel's home. His landing triggers many battles amongst him and Hasmukh Patel, prompting a progression of comedic circumstances. To exacerbate the situation for the two, Monty, Tandon's child tries to charm Patel's little girl, Pooja. Will the Tandon family win the hearts of their Gujarati neighbors and why does Patel abhor Punjabi's so much, frames the essence.
