Vegans probably just make around 3% of the total US population according to the Vegetarian Resource Group (VRG). They are subject to a lot of speculation and entertainment. Being vegan is a daily struggle, and no matter what happens, a vegan won’t be left alone!
If you are one of those, hope you relate to these 13 daily struggles of being a vegan.
#1. What do vegans do?
The initial struggle of being a vegan relates to that of what people say or think about you! Do you weave your clothing line? Do you preach about the vegan lifestyle? Eat this; it's vegetarian!
But what you actually do? Cook delicious and super healthy vegan food. Crib about not being able to find any vegan outlets. Deal with meat eating people. And live a normal life!

#2. Teaching everyone the difference
You become an encyclopedia greater than Wikipedia when it comes to letting people know the difference between being a vegan and a vegetarian.

#3. You face a breakdown
This might happen not due to friends and family members eating meat. But because one of your cooking utensils have been utilized to cook, and there happens to be a lot of meat residue on it.

#4. When everyone becomes a nutritionist
Every other person you meet suddenly starts spreading a lot of useless knowledge about proteins and irons. There arises a strong opinion about what you should be eating and what’s a waste. But you are always prepared to face those experts.

#5. Attending celebrations
It’s frustrating when you are required to be present at social gatherings. Why? Of course for the reason that you don’t fit in. Either you carry your own food and get offended. Or others might feel offended to find vegan menus at your celebration parties.

#6. Meeting another vegan
Though the possibility is scarce, but you still can find one. The ones who aren’t vegan find it difficult to cope with your lifestyle. But the moment you share a similar bonding with a person, life seems sorted!

#7. When people don’t care
Imagine when your friends or family members have ignored the fact that you are a vegan and bacon/chicken sandwich isn’t what you need for lunch!

#8. When nuts get stuck
Vegans have really few options to choose from, as it is. This is a tough lifestyle. But they love it! However, getting nuts stuck in their bags could be a common sight. What else, some baked beans or maybe roasted lentils!

#9. Festivals are disappointing
Your food choices get mocked. You can't eat almost 99% of the food present. You are publically questioned.

#10. You might be parliamentary representative somewhere
You don’t force others. But you ask them to try some vegan meals. What happens? You are made to stand for vegan elections, in the vegan months in the most efficient vegan style! Does this make sense? Exactly, none of the dilemma you face makes sense.

#11. Breakdown upon finding junk vegan food
Such a satisfying feeling that is! Right? It’s a nice feeling to confidently walk into a store, pick those cookies, get them billed and walk off. Equally exciting it is when you can find a vegan burger and pizza!

#12. The opposite sex assumptions
If you are vegan women, men assume you might be disinterested in them due to their non-vegan lifestyle. Does it work this way? No!

#13. Awkwardness
There persists an awkward silence when you introduce yourself as a vegan. Do people even walk off in certain situations? That might have happened.

But, does all of it stop you from adopting a lifestyle that your conscious allow? No. You are a proud vegan, and you will always be. Share with us your experiences and opinions through the comment section below. We would love to hear from you!
When your daily essentials snatch away the whole month's salary.. adapting to such a lifestyle becomes really difficult!! How can one cope with the decision when there aren't many options and even motivational support diminishes in the society that majorly prefers meat over veggies!!
The choices are really limited. Maximum people that I know live on cottage cheese. As if apart from that, there isn't anything available for vegetarians to eat.
Okay, so first of all hats of to all the vegans and those who are still continuing to be one! Well, honestly, I think it is a big mistake. You guys are missing out a lot (the ones who turned into a vegan would understand).
But, its completely your choice and no one can take it from you. So, the bottom line is that if it pleases you then you should go with it, no matter what others have to say. And if you think that it was a little early to decide then you can gladly come back from where you started and do not be afraid of the change.
