The thing about being a vegan is that it is a daily struggle to find good vegan food for consumption. Every food product that you come across in stores has to be thoroughly checked to eliminate the possibility of any ingredient that makes it not suitable for a vegan lifestyle.
Now tortillas are one such food product that is preferred by a lot of vegans. This is primarily because tortillas are a vegetarian food product and that makes tortillas fit for vegan. Though still, the debate for whether tortillas are a vegan food item is ongoing.
Vegans are big on health but at times tend to miss out on the delicious food that they cannot savor on. Though wheat flour tortillas that are used to make burritos and quesadillas often contain lard, so in such cases, you need to check before buying an item from the market. Just make sure which label are you buying from. Otherwise, one can just walk into a grocery or natural-food store and buy organic flour and whole wheat tortillas easily.
It is better and far easier to just go for simple tortillas that contain just a few easy to understand ingredients instead of buying items that are made up of complex stuff.
But just in case you come across an ingredient that the tortilla contains which you are not able to identify then make a simple search for it or simply go for a trusted brand.

The freshly made chips that one finds at a Mexican restaurant are in the list of vegan tortillas. They are traditionally made from uncooked corn tortilla that has been deep fried in vegetable oil. Though those tortillas are typically vegan, there is a factor that you need to consider which is that the chips are not fried in the same basket fryers in which meat is fried.
