Taarak Mehta is best known for his Gujarati column 'Duniya Ne Undha Chasma'. The popular TV show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' is based on this column. Renowned writer, columnist, humorist and playwright Taarak Mehta has passed away at the age of 87 after prolonged illness. Taarak Mehta breathed his last in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The news of Bhavya Gandhi(Tappu) quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah after long eight years & eight months it has became a shocker news to all his fans. Tappu has become the favourite of the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah viewers. This sudden exit of Bhavya made us question what made Bhavya Gandhi to quit the show. His mom revealed, “He has got an opportunity in films, right now he is playing the lead in Gujarati films, so we took this decision”. Talking about the contract with the show she said, “We don’t have any such contract with the show”.
