These beautiful monuments have mesmerized people from all over the world and have made a special place for themselves. The seven wonders are admired across the globe and have a beautifully rich history.
They were all made to stand out among the legions of magnificent monuments scattered all over the world. Their beauty leaves us awestruck and also makes us marvel at the thought that went into creating something so splendid. The original seven wonders were the first to be a part of this illustrious list, and the world a few years back got its new 7 wonders. More than 100 million people voted in the year 2007 to create this new list.
What are the seven wonders of the world:
#1. Great Wall of China( China)
The Great Wall of China is the most remarkable monument in the country and the most famous too. It is a long chain made of stone and earth and was created in the middle of the 5th century B.C. and the 16th century to protect China from invading Mongols.5th century B.C. and the 16th century to protect China from invading Mongols.

#2. Christ the Redeemer Statue (Rio de Janeiro)
The 130 feet statue of Christ that stands tall from upon Corcovado Mountain is one of the new wonders of the world. It is the most iconic figure that is synonymous with Brazil, Rio and has a lot of religious significance as well.

#3. Machu Picchu (Peru)
One of the marvelous site on the face of the Earth that is a reminder of a great and fascinating civilization that once existed, Machu Picchu is a sight to behold. Engulfed in greenery, the ruins which are the remains of the Inca Civilization are sprawled over this mountain citadel.

#4. Chichen Itza (Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico)
Another great Mesopotamian civilization that existed in the ancient times were the Mayans, and their amazing pyramid is the most familiar ruin and the most famous too. The great city was once a flourishing place where trade was carried out with other countries, and it was a political and economic hub. The marvelous architecture is all that remains of the great civilization.

#5. The Roman Colosseum (Rome)
The most iconic building in all of Rome needs no introduction. It was built between A.D. 70 and 80 A.D and for 500 years it was put into use by the citizens of the old Rome. Nearly 50,000 spectators watched the gladiatorial events that took place in this imposing building.

#6. Taj Mahal (Agra, India)
Another very iconic monument that is one of the most famous wonders of the world is the marble mausoleum. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It was built in 1632 and 1648 and is considered the most magnificent example of Mughal architecture through its architectural style is an amalgamation of Persian, Islamic, Turkish and Indian.

#7. Petra (Jordon)
This magnificent monument was declared World Heritage Site in 1985. It was once the capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV. It is amazing to see the intricate designs that have been cut into giant rocks to create this amazing building. What is even more fascinating is that the people of this civilization were apt at manipulating water technology. This is how they were able to create tunnels and water chambers that created a pseudo-oasis.
