The tiny yellow beings made an entry into the world of animation films in the year 2010 with the movie Despicable Me. Besides making a wonderful army for Gru in the Despicable Me series and being Illumination Entertainment mascot, Minions have also had a movie of their own in the year 2015.
However, the fans are often left wondering what language do the minions speak? The unique language is one of the fascinating aspects of the Minions. While it seems to be a whole lot of gibberish, Minion language often oscillates between different languages. Below is some more detail about the astonishing Minion language.

The Minion fans are familiar with the terms po-ka, tank yu, and bi-do and have an entirely different understanding of the term banana. It is only a matter of times that Minionese ends up becoming an official world language. However, the language is interestingly an admixture of many existing world languages like French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, English, Italian, and Mandarin. Minion language even includes certain Hindi words.
For instance, the Minionese phrase ‘poulet tiki masala’ is a combination of two languages where poulet means chicken in French and tiki masala is an Indian dish. Tank yu, on the other hand, is a mispronounced English way of expressing gratitude.

The directors, Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, also stated that they borrowed the words from distinctive languages and mixed it with a whole lot of gibberish and blabbering to create Minionese. The minion language or the Minionese has become so popular among the fans that they have even begun to fondly call it the Banana Language.
