F.R.I.E.N.D.S. One word that's enough to brighten up even the most horrible day. Let me break it down in case you're wondering why. Stressed out from school work? Okay, take a break. Watch Friends. Bad day at work? Watch Friends. Feeling low? Watch Friends. Yes, the answer is pretty simple and the catch? It'll work every single time.
Friends was a kind of therapy that helped me and hundreds around the world when things fell apart and got really bad. It had and will always have the power to seamlessly draw you into a world of unfaltering loyalty and friendship depicted through the lives of six ordinary New Yorkers - Ross, Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe, who like all of us have their own sets of flaws and idiosyncrasies. They have starkly different lives, each living in a sphere completely different from the other. But what is great is their unmistakable adoration for each other and a common love for coffee.

However, coming to the central idea of this discussion, who is my favorite Friend? Well, of course, it's Phoebe! I mean, not only is she an absolute enigma, she is also a character packed with quirky wisdom, child-like spontaneity and a deep passion for social causes. Phoebe or Pheebs or Regina Phalange or Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock is portrayed as a girl with an infectious personality and a chaotic, miserable past. Her mother committed suicide when she was fourteen, yet she is always the one spreading positivity and if need be, also cleansing someone's murky aura.
Her utter charm comes probably from the way she reacts to situations happening around her. Remember that episode when she received $500 in her bank account by mistake and couldn't rest till it was returned because it wasn't her money and she hadn't earned it? Or that time when she decorated Rachel's birthday party with hundreds of cups, some hanging like chandeliers and some as hats because she was in charge of cups and well because she is Phoebe and that's how it is.

Also, let's take a moment to appreciate and rightfully admire her genius as a songwriter. Though completely blunt and almost never pretty, Phoebe's songs are all about brutal honesty and are meant to unravel the reality of things and situations. She knows who she is and isn't afraid of her raw, innate humaneness. On one occasion Phoebe describes herself as :
One, my friends are the most important thing in my life,
Two, I never lie,
And three, I make the best Oatmeal-Raisin cookies in the world.

Her character also goes on to demonstrate how one need not have graduated as prom queen or belonged to a certain kind of society to be a great friend. You could be Phoebe- a Bohemian, offbeat, borderline eccentric, universe-loving character, with a heart full of compassion and still make friends for life. Her pool of crazy, fun solutions is never ending and quite honestly, let them keep coming. We wouldn't have it any other way.
