Happiness is an unforced emotion which is spontaneous and natural. People do not make efforts to be happy, yes the actions matter a lot which brings about happiness but it’s an effortless feeling. Happiness is expressed not only in smiling ear to ear, chuckling or bursting out loud. It is a sacred feeling which need not yell loud to show its presence. One’s happiness can be acknowledged even in the behavior and tears do imply happiness.
We’ve seen people shedding tears during their best of times, the happiest of times. Tears are sort of a catharsis, the release of emotions that help you showcase your happiness without going through shouts of joys and other similar moments. An emotional balance is created when we tend to share our happiness by breaking into tears. Tears are stereo typically associated with sadness, grumpiness, and grief. Tears, however, get an another dimension when we associate them with cheer and gaiety.
People have various ways of manifesting their rides of sentiments and sensation. No one is same, and hence their ways of exhibiting their joy vary. When you cry tears of joy, you give yourself a platform where you can reserve yourself and keep movements and action at a distance which support as an evidence to your happiness. Tears of happiness have a meaning, not that they are an emphatic affirmation of your feelings, but you get a sense of inner peace. Here are some of the things which makes the entire thing clear as to what is crying to happiness:
#1. You Are At Peace
When people weep for joy, the tears of joy gather a special importance. It reveals that you are internally at peace with yourself. People maintain a quiet life and manage to lead the same without indulging in demonstrating the emotions loudly. Tears of happiness are a proof that you have no tumultuous storm within your self.

#2. Extreme Happiness
Happiness can be witnessed in many forms in the daily life, but they differ in their degree. When you are happy to a great extent, you find chuckling, laughing, shouting and yelling a tad bit useless. Those things automatically feel clumsy, and all you can do is present your joy in the form of tears.
For instance, parents do cry tears of happiness when their child lands a good job or stands with them even during adversities and rough phase of life.
#3. Surprised
Sometimes the events in your life happen abruptly, and you get no time to figure them out, this is where you are astounded by the turn of events in your life, and you end up getting favorable and positive results. People are flabbergasted, and they cry tears of happiness without actually realizing the gravity of the situation. Some things surprise us and spring in our lap out of nowhere. People do shed tears when they get fruitful ramifications of which they least expected.

#4. Lay Bare The Emotions
The roller coaster of sentiments has its own highs and lows. Emotions are revealed when you are too emotional, and you happen to break into tears of joy all of a sudden only because you care for others and love to be happy in other’s happiness or maybe your own.
#5. Nostalgic
Sometimes nostalgia hits too hard, and when we walk down the memory lane, we break into tears and cannot control our repressed emotions and express our joviality and contentment. The hidden emotions which have been sidelined for eons get a full showcase.

For instance, when we go through the old pictures, we miss the good old days and wish to recreate them and shed tears of happiness when we get an opportunity to relive those moments again and store them in our memory land.
#6. Psychic
Without being too melodramatic, people go into the psychological world of their own and cannot contain happiness. At this very point, they go through emotional pangs to a great deal and convey their delight. They do not make a song and dance of their joy and simply have teary eyes.
People do not understand the mechanism behind the tears they shed when they are happy. It is indecipherable as to why we go through a happy-sad emotion when we are full of joy and in great spirits. Happiness is often indicated by splitting one’s sides, hooting with laughter, roaring ha-ha but tears of happiness are much more than and more often than not more substantial. We break into tears when we are gay and jolly because of the reasons stated below:
#1. Autonomic Nervous System
The autonomic nervous system is of two types – sympathetic and parasympathetic. Sympathetic helps in organizing the body during the times of strain of anxiety. Parasympathetic, however, calms us down. We get teary-eyed because of the parasympathetic nervous system which produces tears even when we are happy.

#2. Overwhelming Joy
At times people are beyond happy due to their success or results or anything for that matter. The emotional thread is hit upon somewhere, and we start weeping. It is completely okay to break tears of joy as the value of the happiness increases, and people do not doubt your intentions and purposes.
#3. No Melodrama
Roaring out loud is not always taken to be the genuine sign of happiness, happiness comes from within too, when you are alone, solitary and enjoying your own life without any interference from someone. Melodrama gets sidelined in your life whenever you are happy, misty-eyed and emotional.

#4. The Emotional Equilibrium
Psychologists are of the opinion that we cry when we are happy because of the body’s tendency to maintain a balance. They say that you react to a happy situation in a negative manner, you are sure to overcome the intense emotions in a better way and keep a check on them as well. The two expressions are also shared simultaneously.
#5. When Verbal Cannot Do
When verbal emotions fail or cannot do justice to the level of happiness gained, we resort to tears and begin to weep. You cannot convey your feelings verbally at all times, sometimes the level of joy is different, and you act according to the situations. You need not force yourself to do this, it just happens.

#6. Check On Emotions
People go through the turmoil of tears and occasional external sadness, which is otherwise extreme happiness. The reason is we roll back our emotions to taper off the level of excitement and jolly mood. Psychologists call these emotions the dimorphous expression which helps in regulating the positive feelings. In a happy abandon, we are overwhelmed with a lot of positivity and to maintain an equipoise tears are the best medium with which it can be done.
#7. Reunion
When we meet our kith and kin, our loved ones, our friends after eons, we tend to shed tears to exhibit our happiness and satisfaction. The joy we get out of catching up our favorite people makes us happy, and we embrace one another.
