Some words that are not easy to Pronounce

A dictionary is a treasure of words and their meanings. Most of the dictionaries highlight the pronunciations of each and every word inside them. We might go through most of them and might be the master of enhanced vocabulary. But are you sure that you can pronounce all the words, mentioned in a dictionary, without any error or pause? I bet nobody can. It's difficult to be accurate in pronouncing each and every complicated term or word mentioned in the dictionary or any other book.

The following is a list of few words that even the most qualified students fail to pronounce without any error:

  1. Supercalifragilisticexpialidosious- This word first appeared in a song of a Disney film, Mary Poppins. It is the most difficult word to be pronounced. It is a combination of all the words- super, cali, fragilistic, expiali and docious. It is used to describe something extraordinary or wonderful. It is usually a way to spread optimism around.
  2. Onomatopoeia- Onomatopoeia is used to describe certain words that sound similar to their meanings.
  3. Conscientiousness- It is one of the personality traits of a human being and describes people who are efficient and organized.
  4.  Thiruvananthapuram- It is the name of the capital of Kerala. It has been shortened to "Trivandrum" because people found it difficult to pronounce the word.
  5. Sphygmomanometer- It is an instrument that is used to measure the blood pressure. It is one of the words that even most of the medical students fail to pronounce correctly.
  6. Worcestershire- This word is mostly used in England as it is the name of the county of West Indies.
  7. Otorhinolaryngologist- An otorhinolaryngologist is a specialist doctor of nose, throat and ear.

These words might be complicated to be pronounced but regular practice can make your pronunciation skills perfect and accurate.
