For a long time death has been the biggest question for thinkers, philosophers and scientists. It is so shocking to see that at this moment someone is here and the very next moment one is no more. At this moment, we were talking to someone and the next moment there is no one to hear us. How?
If we do not understand death, we actually do not understand life. Life and death are two aspects of the same thing.
In every era, much effort has been taken to understand and explain death. There are various religious approaches to the issue. What happens after death is dealt in detail in various religious scriptures. But our focus here in this article is what science and technology state about death. And it is amazing that now most of the brilliant brains in the field are stating that death is nothing but an illusion.
Quantum physics states that reality is not comprehensible by our logical mindset and common senses. It means we cannot perceive it. The world is a “Maya”. Albert Einstein also was very much influenced by this idea and was working on it in his later days. So if the world is so, we do not understand life, nor do we understand death. The actuality remains hidden and we witness nothing but an illusion.
This is true about death also. Death, as we know it, is an illusion. Actually, there is no death. Now the prominent physicists from leading academic organizations are saying that we are not mind, wisdom and body. Rather we are consciousness, though we do not realize it. Our consciousness just resides in our bodies and even outside it at the same time. When our bodies are no more, we continue to be. The scientists call it quantum consciousness that can live beyond the constraints of time and space.
Within the realm of Newtonian physics, we never encounter anything beyond common senses and logic. Everything fits well within the rational frameworks. But as soon as we reach the domain of quantum physics, we start to see bizarre things. We encounter the wave-particle duality there. A particle is not just a mass, rather it is a wave at the same time. Quantum physics also states that an elementary particle is present at more than one place at the same time. Now see, how amazing it is. How is it possible? But this theory has survived numerous experiments and analysis by the foremost brains so far.
Now the quantum physicists are talking about the body-soul dichotomy. It states that we are not only bodies, but also souls at the same time. Obviously, the body is earthly and the soul is not. These are two different things. But some great physicists from Cambridge University, Princeton University, Max Planck Institute For Physics, Max Planck Institute For Biophysical Chemistry etc. believe it and are seriously working in this direction with substantial scientific findings so far.
Another approach to the issue is related to the existence of parallel universes. There could be multiple universes. The physicists state that an event can happen in endless ways in these multiple universes and we could be present and living in many universes at the same time. It means we could be here on the planet earth and we could be on some other planet in some other distant universe too. Both of “us” would be having the same look, same colour, same height...say just like clones. And even the same family and other physical and non-physical surroundings will be there. The quantum physicists state that it is possible that in all these copies of ourselves, the same consciousness resides. One idea related to our immortality is that when one’s body dies in this universe, we actually continue to be living in some other universe and the consciousness of the dead body moves to some other parallel universe. So there is no death and our consciousness stays outside our bodies and beyond time and space.
It means, actually speaking we all are immortals. So these things are really amazing.So far there is no concrete proof of this theory, but if many brilliant brains of physics are talking about this, there must be some weight to it.
The Vedas of the Hindus have stated the same thing for long. We are immortal souls, free from the constraints of time and space.
Work is going on in this direction and in coming days, hopefully, the physicists would find some concrete proof of the body-soul dichotomy.Let us wait, when these things get proved scientifically.
