The most important part or trick to increase PR is using the backlinks. Cause when Google see that visitors from others sites are coming to your sites then your PR will increase. You can add backlinks by commenting on other blogs and adding various links to your site when you sign off. And there are various procedures to describe below
1. Provide content to other websites & then link back to your site via your credit.
2. Blog commenting and do follow the blogs.

4. Forum posting (With signature)
5. Ask other bloggers to link to you.

Yes, it may be an argument to say but I will say yes it is possible, but not so possessively. Yes, backlinks is a very important part to increase PR on your page but if we think in that right way, that without linking external links, your page is itself linked externally, so it more than possible to rank individual pages on your site, even if those pages themselves don’t have external links. So there is a strong relationship between links and pages and that pages performance in search so it’s much better if the page own have external links. According to a survey, it all approx 77% of individual pages in the top results had, at least, one external link from another site, which clears approx the left 22% of pages ranks individually. But that page which ranks individually they mostly depend on various types of huge ads and publicity, which costs very much.
Although not examined in this study, it’s likely most of the pages without external links, at least, had internal links pointing at them. While not as strong as an external link, internal links remain a decent way to pass authority, relevancy and popularity signals to pages on the same site.
