How is acting on big screen different from television

The world of television today has negligible different with the big/silver screen as both have started using the digital camera in shooting a film or serial.

However, the basic difference is the story which is known by the actor and actresses before they start playing their part in a film but in a TV soap, the actors keep developing their themselves where acting is concerned with the development of the story/series.

The actors of a television serial have the advantage of growing with the episodes of the serial. They, therefore, get the time to improve their performance which the big screen actors do not get. The role of the big screen actor is predecided.

Time frame plays a major role in television acting. Each episode gets a particular time of say half an hour to one hour according to which the actor has to finish up his acting. Film actors do not have to stick to a particular time frame but on the location of the shooting.  The shots decided for a location have to be completed but the timing may vary. Big screen acting is not time bound.

Directors of big screen films are pre-decided and so the team of actors get their instructions from the director and get used to his way of working with time. This is not the case with television actors as they may have to face a new director in each episode who may not be knowing the previous development of the series.

The director would just guide his team of actors on the episode that he is directing. The actors, therefore, have to work hard on their roles to make the serial a success. They have to change their way of performance for the better and that would help their audience to stay glued to the TV screen.

With the invention of the digital camera where serials and shots can be edited acting in big screen and television has become almost the same.
