Food Poisoning is a medical condition wherein consumption of some contaminated food or drinks causes the penetration of certain types of viruses, bacteria, and toxins inside our body. It usually affects the stomach but can spread to other organs in case of severe infections.
Food poisoning should not be taken lightly because it can lead to fatal damages. People with lower immune systems and the one suffering from chronicle illness are more prone to food poisoning.

#1. Norovirus Poisoning
It is caused due to consumption of uncooked or improper heating of the food item. This may include fruits and vegetables too.
#2. Salmonella Poisoning
It is usually caused due to consumption of contaminated eggs, meat, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.
#3. Clostridium Perfringens Poisoning
It is usually caused by consuming rotten or soiled Beef, poultry, and gravies.
#4. Campylobacter Poisoning
It can be a result of consuming contaminated poultry, unpasteurized milk, and poisoned drinking water.
#5. Staphylococcus Aureus Poisoning
Spoiled milk, dairy products, meats, and desserts cause this poisoning.
These are the most common forms of Food Poisoning that occur due to our carelessness and over indulgence in food that is not liver friendly.

Usually, the symptoms of food poisoning occur depending on the bacterial infection connected to the contaminated food. On an average, it takes about 2-6 hours after the consumption for the symptoms to reflect. It could also take as long as three weeks for your body to realize that the rotten pizza that you consumed on your friend’s last day at the office hasn’t bid you farewell yet.
- watery diarrhea
- fever
- nausea
- headaches
- vomiting
- abdominal pain and
- fever
These symptoms are not much of loners and usually occur in combinations.

If you experience
- dehydration
- diarrhea with blood or mucus
- muscle pain
- excessive itching
- skin rashes or
- blurry vision
Then you may need to consult the doctor for medical attention strictly.
How Long Do The Symptoms Last?
With symptoms like diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and, dizziness every one wishes to get rid of them as early as possible. Well, the duration of the symptoms varies according to the bacteria and pathogens that have poisoned your body. Typically, the symptoms develop after a few hours of consuming contaminated food; they can last for weeks or even months depending on the damage they have caused to your immunity system. Different type of food poisoning takes a different amount of time to leave your body.

#1. If you are suffering from diarrhea or constant puking, make sure to keep yourself hydrated. Do not gulp huge amounts, but keep taking small sips of water from time to time. Sucking ice cubes will work too.
#2. Along with water, consider taking some rehydration solutions. They provide the body with instant energy and also replace the electrolytes that cause electricity in the body.
#3. Avoid consuming any fatty acids, sugar rich food items, alcohol, caffeine, carbonated drinks and dairy products.
