How long does Hand Foot Mouth last?

The much-talked disease ‘Hand, foot and mouth’ is caused by the Coxsackie virus A16. The most terrible aspect of the contagious disease is that it gives out blisters on hands, feet and inside the mouth.

It shows up during the hot weather and spreads with ease where a basket of children reside together such as in school. Not just that, it does not spare the little kids as well. You should know that in the summers, they can take place in the nappy area of the child too. But for how long does hand foot mouth last? Let’s figure out.

Once the child gets acquainted with the infection, he or she will not get infected by it again as the same rash cannot take place twice. Though you might think it is happening due to the same virus, in reality, it is not.

When Does It Develop And Till When Does It Last?

Once you come in contact with the virus, it takes generally three to five days for the disease to show up.

Now, let’s get to know how long it stays infectious.

#1. Till the time blisters don’t get dried, a person will remain highly infectious. The viruses imbibed in the fluid of the ugly looking blisters can spread at a fast rate through sneezing or coughing.

#2. The virus can also be found in the kid’s poop and can retain its place there until he is recovered. Immense hygiene relates practices are required at homes.

#3. Also note down, kids suffering from this disease should not attend school or anything until their blisters face a dry state.

What Are The Symptoms Of The Disease?

#1. A child suffering from the infection might be suffering from high fever and may have a loss of appetite due to ulcers imbibed in the mouth and also with a never ending runny nose. It drains out the energy out of a human body.

#2. Generally, blisters show up in the nappy area of the child and at times on the upper arms or upper legs.

#3. Many of the adults face the infection during their childhood days, and when they have it, they also have to cope with the ulcers in the mouth.

Treatment

#1. Trust us; there is no specific treatment to dimish the disease quickly. You will consequently have to bear the symptoms.

#2. Use antibiotic such as paracetamol if the fever goes high.

#3. Do not forget to gulp down drinks though avoid orange juice which is acidic in nature and can affliction if ulcers are prevailing in the mouth.

#4. Consult with your doctor if your kid is too unwell and has a terrible headache that prevails for a long time or is at high temperature.

#5. Also, if would be good for you if you let the blisters to dry up naturally.

#6. Also, you must remember that hand, foot and mouth disease has no immunization.
