Have you heard of UTI? Do you know what it stands for? All women must know that the risks of getting Urinary tract infection (UTI) are way too high. They hold more than fifty percent chance to attain it in their course of their lives. But, what are the symptoms of a UTI? We shall discuss this in this article.

If you are going through post menopause, the chances of getting a UTI will blow up. ‘Post menopause, risks of getting one UTI each year is too common amongst women,’ iterates Kavita Mishra who is an urogynecologist at the University of California in San Francisco. Also, did you know that amendments in the pH of the vagina can change the balance of the bacteria in post menopausal women and makes it way easier for the bacteria to carve their way into the urethra?

If you experience pain or a burning sensation on peeing, then you are in grave trouble. The first sign of UTI is the pain and means that the bacteria have found its way into the bladder. But it does not signify that you have got full UTI yet. If you just experience the pain once in a day and not at other times, that means the bacteria has found its way out of the bladder and you don’t need to worry anymore.
Also, gulp down a lot of water as soon you start to experience immense pain as it would help out in flushing out the bacteria thus preventing the infection from increasing.

If you feel the need to revisit the washroom right after you just went, then it is a situation to worry about! It means you have been infected by the bacteria which anguish the urethra and lining the bladder and makes you go to the toilet over and again.

Also, you must be aware of the fact that too many trips to washroom too often is a big signal for infection. The problem known as UTI can make you feel as if you have a full bladder. Trips to washroom often and no little relief are signals to search for.

Did you know that the color of the pee can disclose a lot of things you didn’t know like you have an infection or not? You should be aware that if your pee displays a color which is not yellow or clear then there is a reason to worry. Sadly, Cloudy or red urine are signals of immense infection which needs attention right away. Before you start panicking, think what you ate in the last twenty-four hours.

You don’t have to smell the urine every time you go to the toilet although a strong smell is a common signal of UTI. Though, some foods make your pee smell pungent. The two common villains are coffee and asparagus. And, notice if you still visit the washroom after going several times, then it’s the right time to seek medical attention.

Treatment

If you feel that you have got the UTI infection then seek medical attention instantly. The doctor will ask you to give a sample of your urine which will test your cause(bacteria) for UTI. So, what is the treatment? Antibiotics are the solution. Once you finish the medical cycle as prescribed by your doctor, start gushing in loads of water on an everyday basis to flush out the bacteria completely.
