Can Women take Viagra?

Do you think women can take Viagra? Is it safe for their consumption? Does Viagra have any side effects?  We will provide you with solid solutions to send away your worries!  Let me start with what is Viagra exactly? It is a medicine to treat men with erectile dysfunction. It is a sound pill to treat the problem of impotence. Many men all over the globe have found it worth the time to cure their pivotal problem.

No wonder! Women suffering from low sexual libido have stumbled upon the thought of taking Viagra to cure themselves too. So, the question that strikes up again is ‘Does Viagra work for women to increase their sex related desires?’

How Does Viagra Work?

So, the medicine Viagra has an active ingredient called ‘sildenafil’ which is found effective when specific muscles within the body that are the smooth muscles surrounding the blood vessels loosen up. When this takes place, there is a lot more space for the blood vessels to get blown up and permits the blood to pass.

You must know the flow of the blood to the penis is the most pivotal step for an erection to happen. When a man takes Viagra, the smooth muscles surrounding his blood vessels within the penis relax and more blood are passed. And, a man is sexually aroused when this happens!

The physical body parts of the men are worked upon by Viagra to cure their erectile dysfunction and to have a stable erection.  So, you must note that this medicine does not notch up the sexual desire rather only helps in increasing the blood flow to the penis so it can get erected when it is required. Hope this helped you to know the basic function of Viagra!

Two things such as libido and sexual desire are complicated subjects to talk upon. The fundamental issue is that both men and women behave differently when they are sexually aroused! So, a sound and effective solution for a man may not the work the right way for women.

Various science researchers have tried and tested the effect of the medicine of Viagra on women, and the result did not come out well in their favor. The drug does not have any effect on the increase of sexual desire rather than the flow of blood to the area. The trial run by ‘UCLA’ is one such small study which showed that Viagra enhanced the enjoyment of sex, though further studies were unable to come to the same conclusion.

So, it is pretty clear that Viagra has not been given the license for women to use the medicine. It is a strong signal that the successful clinical trials have not been done by drug manufacturers to name it to secure and sound for treatment.

Does Viagra Have Side-Effects?

Like any other drug, this medicine too has side-effects without depending on the fact whether a man or a woman takes it.

These side effects include:

#1.    Headaches
#2.    Indigestion
#3.    Diarrhoea
#4.    Flushed Skin
#5.    Dizziness
#6.    Heart attack
#7.    Stroke

Furthermore, there hasn’t been much scientific research about the negative effects of Viagra for women. For this reason, there may also be other gender-specific effects that target women more than men and the medium/long-term risks are unknown.

Should Women Try This Medicine?

In United Kingdom (UK), Viagra has only been licensed and advised for men and not women.

In case you experience a low desire for sex and wish to do something to attain the mood, consult your doctor about the options safe for you. For many women, the problem is not a malfunction of the body but a lack of desire in the brain tank, something that can’t be improvised without the help of a pill like Viagra.

Viagra is used for erectile dysfunction. Men who face problem of erection use this herbal medicine. Whereas, women do not need this, but there are some anecdotal evidences that Viagra increases the sexual desires in them. Though, it still continues to be a mystery if it is really useful for women, yet it hasn’t been proved.
