Dealing with bullying

Bullying is a type of harassment. 

It exists in our society. It may be verbal, physical or even sexual abuse. Bullying also includes cyber bullying or phone calls. It also includes sharing bad pictures and texting bad on phone or Facebook. Spreading rumors about a person or sexual harassment.

People bully others when they are jealous or want to boost their own self esteem. Some people get pleasure by harassing others. Even children may be bullied.

Symptoms of your child being bullied.

# Loss of confidence.
# Change in academic performances.
# Bed wetting.
# Change in eating and sleeping habits.
# Unhappiness.


How to handle your bully -

# First try talking to your bully.
# Firmly tell them to  "Leave you alone" and "Stop it".
# Encourage your child to share their feelings. Tell them it is okay to ask help from others.
# If you feel you are being bullied don't remain silent. Speak with some good friends or family members. If you feel you are being bullied, just  ignore them. You can also report to the police.
# When you have a support group, it is easy to overcome such nuisance . Avoid blaming yourself for being a victim. You may get depression, due to bullies. Consider taking a counselling.
# If someone, is being bullied reassure them that it is not their fault that they are being victimized.

Stay calm, take action today if you are being bullied. No one deserves to be a victim. Do not suffer in silence.

No, I have been fortunate enough that I never had to handle someone who tried to bully me. And I would like to suggest people who are being bullied by others to stay strong and act wisely  and accordingly against that particular person.
