What are some polite and impolite excuses to give for not going to a party?

It is very indecent to refuse invitation but sometimes it is not possible to attend all the invitations. How to deal with a situation when your near and dear one is inviting you to a party, and you want to avoid it.

It will be very rude if you directly refuse to go to the party. You have to act very smartly and give a reason which could justify why you are unable to attend the party.

There are several ways to say no to your hosts. If you know in advance that you will not be able to attend the party, then it is better to inform the host at the time of invitation that you will not be able to present at the party. Because the host usually makes all the arrangement considering the number of guests.

The best way to refuse an invitation is, first of all, thank him/her for the invitation, next congratulate the host if he/she is throwing the party for any happy occasion, after that apologize and say politely that you will not be able to attend the party, finally wish him/her to good luck for the party.

Some polite excuses are:

•    Unable to get leave from the office

•    Guests at home

•    Exam of children

•    Health issue

•    Transportation problem

•    Illness

Some impolite excuses are:

•    Hate parties

•    Invitation from a close friend

•    On dieting

•    Forgot about the invitation

•    Don't know the address
