Home remedies help to get over the symptoms of a urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infection is much common in women than men. It starts with frequent visits to the potty. It is accompanied with a burning sensation in the bladder. Causes for urinary tract infection are sexual intercourse, pregnancy, menopause and diabetes. Here is what to do when you have a urinary tract infection.
Drink water
Water can flush away all the bacteria causing infection. Drink ten glasses of water daily. You can also drink fruit or vegetable juices. Drinking warm water also reduces the pain. Drinking a cup of Radish juice will also provide relief.
Apple Cider vinegar
Add two teaspoons of Apple cider vinegar in one glass of water. Add lemon juice and honey. Mix well and drink twice.
Baking soda
Baking soda will raise the acid-base balance of acidic urine. Add one teaspoon of Baking soda to a glass of water. Drink twice a day. This will neutralize the acid in the urine.
Tea tree oil
Mix a few drops of tea tree oil in your bath water. Wash the urethra opening with this water.
Take vitamin C
Taking a vitamin C supplement will help with urinary tract infection. Eat vitamin C rich foods like pineapple, guava, bananas, melons etc.
Cut bladder irritant foods
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, spicy food, artificial sweeteners can irritate your bladder further. Eat healthy fibrous food. They are good for your digestive system.

Soothe the pain with heat
Urinary tract infection, can cause burning around your pubic area. Applying a heating pad may soothe the burning sensation. Do not apply direct heat on your skin and keep the heat low.

Make a juice of pineapple and drink it. Pineapple is rich in Bromelain. It has anti-inflammatory properties. Eat pineapple on regular basis.

Every time you empty your bladder, you will be flushing out the bacteria.
Drink Cranberry juice
Unsweetened Cranberry juice flushes out the bacteria. Drink three to four glasses of Cranberry juice daily. This is useful in preventing kidney damage.
