How to be your own Best Coach in Life?

We are all work in progress; this essentially means that every individual is learning from the kind of experiences they have had and the things that they choose to do in life. We all learn from the past and grow as individuals. Life is all about becoming a better version of yourself. Better than who you were yesterday, someone who has learned to do things differently and has learned to deal with the complexities of life because of their past experiences. We all strive to transform ourselves according to the demands that life has from us. However, some people find it hard to deal with the changes that life throws at them. They find it challenging to transform themselves to step up to the next level in life or for the new opportunities that life offers them. We all have a different approach towards life and how we deal with all that is taking place in our life. 

Sometimes, the problems become so adverse that we need to seek help to come back on track in life. There are times when we need to re-evaluate the things that we are doing and where exactly we are going in life. Doing this will take your life one notch higher and help you to become a better version of yourself. We can always take help and advice from our parents and friends. However, the fact that no other person would be able to become the best coach for you, other than yourself also stands true in every circumstance. Some experiences in life are so innate and personal that there really is no other person we can ask for help. Even if they offer to help us, they would not be able to do the justice as they might not be able to perceive the situation the way we can. In certain situations, one needs to seek possible solutions himself or herself. One will be required to act as the coach of his or her own life.

#1. Find The Right Direction

An essential step in the direction of becoming your own best coach in life is to sit back and take a look at all that is going in your life. Then evaluate if it is in sync with all that you really wish for your life. We all have a bunch of things that need to be taken care of at the earliest but because we are so engaged in entertaining the trivial matters in life that we ignore the important ones. When you will sit back and evaluate where your life is going, you will make sure that you chalk out the direction that you wish. The first step to making this possible is by making sure that you are aware of the direction that is correct for you. Most of us are not aware of what we want, and what the right direction is for us. When you take a step being a self-coach, you need to figure out where you want your life to go and what you wish for it to look like. This clarity will make it possible for you to find the right direction in life and once you know where you wish to go, you will surely be able to figure out a way to reach that goal.

#2. Take A Close Look At Your Current Circumstances

You will need to examine your life in the present moment; all that is going on in your life at this moment is the result of all those actions that you have been taking all this while. When you examine why things have turned out right or wrong, you will be able to figure out where you have been going right and all that you need to change to make things work out better.

This will also help you to understand where you stand in comparison to where you wish to be. The reason that sometimes we keep doing things and do not get the result that we wish to get is that we refrain from taking a look at what we have created in the now and how different it is from where we wish to be. When you become the coach of your own life, remember that your current circumstances are the indicators of the action that you have been taking. And if you wish to make changes in your life, you will have to change the action that you have been taking.

#3. Concentrate On All Areas Of Your Life

While you take a look at the life circumstances that you are living, what you wish to achieve in your life make sure that you are paying attention to all aspects of your life. We often tend to determine what we want in some aspects of our life, but forget many other crucial areas. We need to understand the fact that all aspects of our lives are connected and affect each other.

For example, it is not enough to know what you wish to achieve in your career and what kind of a relationship you want to be in. You need to pay attention to other aspects as well such as your health, paying attention to your family, getting enough rest for your body, giving enough time to your friends and family etc. If anyone of these areas is not in place, you will find that it is negatively impacting the other areas of your life which are working out just fine.

#4. Celebrate Your Victories

Make sure that you are acknowledging all the things that you do on a regular basis and celebrate all your small and significant victories. We get involved in our goals, our daily routine and forget to celebrate all those small things that bring happiness to our life. We forget to acknowledge all the efforts we make for a happy and healthy life. 

Celebrating any achievement makes us feel that it is worth working hard for everything that we wish to accomplish in our lives. Celebration keeps us inspired and gives the drive from within to aim for all the things that we have not been able to achieve so far. When we keep on doing things in life and forget to acknowledge the effort we have put into the task; life becomes mundane and dull. But, when we make an effort to celebrate the smallest victories in life, it makes the journey towards our goals beautiful and worth all the efforts.

#5. Hold Yourself Accountable

People consider going to a life coach because they offer advice very objectively. They do not stand for the excuses that you give to them and call you out whenever you are distracting from a commitment or a promise. To become the life coach of your own life, you need to make sure that you match up to that level of accountability. Be responsible for all your actions, refrain from making excuses and hold yourself accountable in a very objective manner. Keep on analyzing your situation; where you stand, what do you strive to achieve.  Appreciate yourself for all the successes and be as much responsible for the failures. Work towards being better every day. One you incorporate accountability into your behavior, you will feel the difference in your life.
