We all know that detaching paint from brick could prove to be a Herculean task. Depending on the aim of the task, it may take up to many hours or days to complete the work. As it involves a lot of time, many people choose not to do it themselves and hire professionals instead.
Do you know what the good news is? Stripping paints has improvised over the years thus making the work easier for your sturdy health and the brick as well. These new enhancements have a long way to go in present times where people hardly have time to spare for anything. Let’s see what the methods or steps involved in separating paint from the bricks are.
Tools Required:
1. Paint stripper
2. Peeling strips
3. Protective gear
4. Drop cloths or plastic sheeting
5. Painter’s tape
6. Trowel, drywall knife, or similar
7. Stiff bristled brush

#2. Step Two
You could reduce your cleaning work by thoughtfully planning your work. Firstly, lay down a thick plastic sheeting to get hold of the paint that is peeling away from the brick. Also, apart from that, don’t become a forgetful person by taping the plastic or drop cloth to the bottom edge of the brick.

#3. Step Three
In the third step, get a protective gear as suggested by the manufacturer of the stripper paint which you had chosen. Before starting to apply gel or any paste, you better remove paint that’s on the loose. Then, use a towel or any other special tool given by the stripper paint creator, start applying the paste on the brick. Also, make sure that you enter the gel into all the cracks of the brick. And slowly, layer by layer, start bringing the stripper to the thickness as suggested by the creator.
#4. Step Four
You should begin placing the strips for peeling with the gel in the right place. Since these are made up of fabric, press and hold them against the stripper until the time it’s not attached sturdily. Also, to now show any brick, overlap the strips. Once you place the strips, let them be placed there for a course of time suggested by the maker.

#5. Step Five
After the course of time suggested, return to taking off the strips. If required, take hold of a towel to gain purchase behind any depressed strips. Remove the strips slowly and softly. Don’t try just to rip them apart. And, if at any place, the strips mistakenly leave the paint somewhere, again get hold of the towel to take out as much remnant as possible.
