How to Stop Worrying & Start Living?

There is often a moment in the lives of most of us, where we need to stop worrying and start living. Moments like these are important to make you realize that life is a precious gift that you need to cherish and not waste in cramming it with up with unimportant things.

Motivational speakers or our well-wishers regularly advise us to stop worrying and start living, but how do you start living without worrying?

How To Stop Worrying And Start Living?

Worrying is the biggest enemy to a happy and peaceful life. Here’s how you can reduce your tensions and live a healthier and worry-free life.

#1. Give Yourself Some Space

One needs to create a dedicated space for specific activities to convince your brain that you’ll engage in that particular activity when you enter the assigned zone. Try removing distractions like TV’s, desks, computers from the bedroom. Psychologists suggest that your bedroom should only be dedicated to sex and sleeping; nothing more and nothing less.

Keep your dining room or breakfast table rid of clutter or any leftovers. Use the table for eating or paperwork and clean it afterward. Make sure you clean the dishes after every meal.

As per the kitchen, keep it clean and fresh. Regularly clean the used dishes so to avoid any mess or untidiness. Clean your kitchen every day. Place activities that involve video game consoles, or computers, or TV’s should be placed in general areas like common rooms. Train your brain to know what part of your house is dedicated to which activity.

#2. Reduce Your TV Time

It may be the most difficult task for some, but Television programs can interrupt in your otherwise adequate daily schedule. TV is an addiction that is sure to take away your family time.

If you are still addicted to your idiot box, then all you can do is record the shows and watch them at times which do not compromise with your family time.

Reduced Internet usage is also a good idea if you can manage it. It might be tough as for most of us; the Internet is inevitable for our practical daily business, so better start with your TV.

#3. Fix A Budget

The most effective way to reduce all your worries is to reduce your expenses. Maintain a budget which will limit your expenses as per your income. Trust us; it is not much of a big task.

Keep track of your expenditures for a week or two. Spend as you normally do and keep track of the same on your phone or a notepad. To develop a control on your expenses, divide them according to your daily requirements. Take different categories like gas, food, bills, entertainment, impulse buys, and estimate your monthly spending accordingly.

Try your best to stick to it so to avoid having to worry about how much money you can afford to spend in other places. Make sure you save a certain amount of your income for future purposes.

Always keep your budget flexible. You will have to let loose during festivals or holidays.

#4. Time Management

Just like you managed your expenses, manage your time as well. Since the ultimate goal is to stop worrying and start living, an organized routine will benefit you the most. When you try to schedule your time, just focus on maximizing your personal time instead of cramming it with lesser important activities.

Inculcate adequate time for sleeping, eating and exercising. Be sure that you leave a space; say an hour, between your bedtime and the start of your day, so that you have enough time to get yourself to sleep.

Plan time for personal hygiene, commuting, work, shopping, eating, and other routine chores. Put them in a specific order that suits your needs. This will give you enough free time for yourself.

A fixed schedule helps you keep track of your life thus reducing the efforts and saving a lot of time.

How To Start Living?

To start living the way you should, a peace of mind is the most important.

#1. Nurture Your Empty Moments

It's common for most of us to fill each of our waking moment with smartphone apps, social media browsing or TV. But is it always a good idea? Sometimes, all you need is a moment to yourself, without any distractions and diversions. As it is we do not get a lot of free time in the day, so try to utilize it in your personal growth.

Use your empty time to ponder about whatever you want, or just simply lay back and look at your ceiling or the leaves on a tree from your window. Just spend those moments in inactivity.

#2. Clear Your Head

We often find ourselves lost in the quotidian task of every day, and hence lose out on the meaning of our existence. Taking out some time just to clear your head is quintessential in getting clarity in life. Meditation is one such technique that helps you organize your thoughts and feelings. Sit quietly and focus on your breathing until your mind is put to rest.

Just stay away from any chaos or the hustle bustle of your daily life while you meditate.

#3. Live In The Moment

Don't obsess about the future or stick to your past forever, instead, focus on living in the present. It is rational to plan ahead and set goals, but the most important thing is living your life in the present moment and not to worry about what is already past or what the future might hold.

Believe in self-acceptance. Excessive self-criticism will only cause worry. A part of us listens to what we say about ourselves, whether we want it to or not. You won’t be able to enjoy any moment of your life if you do not think highly of yourself. Instead of refusing to feel proud of yourself, it will only cause you disappointments and worry.

Being a little self-centered is harmless. It helps you get over your embarrassing moments without much effort. Everybody has their gaffes now and then, hence it is important to hold self-confidence.

#4. Count Your Blessings

This old and honest proverb is one of the best advise one can follow to stop worrying and start living. Set aside your resistance to clichés and think about the advantages that you have.

Just be thankful for whatever life has given you till now, and it will keep showering you with more such surprises. The moment you wake up in the morning, try to thank life for giving you a bed to sleep in, a kitchen to cook in, a car to ride in, a building to live in and most importantly a family to love. Be grateful for you can think for yourself; comprehend beauty and dream of better things in life.

Start Living An Alternate Life

If you think that your present life has nothing much to offer, then better adapt to an alternative means of living.

#1. Stay Rational

Worrying about the future is part of our daily ponderings, and one cannot let go of it. We often worry about the jobs that we have, the ones that we can get, the relationships we have and the ones we’ll have in the future. These questions only lead to worries and take away your moments of happiness. We agree that these thoughts are hard to help completely, but thinking about them wouldn’t change their outcomes.

If not unintentional, then make a deliberate effort to focus your attention elsewhere, on things that affect your present instead of your past or future.

Respect yourself. If things do not fall in place, then review the course of events and fix the problems. Believe that you did the best and you’ll do your best every time. There’s no reason good enough to scare you away.

#2. Take A Fall

Life will give you plethora of chances to take risks and succeed. It is up to you to decide whether you’d like to take the plunge or not. One can only learn from their falls and shortcomings. Do not be afraid of losing, just prepare yourself for failures.

If you want to stop worrying and start living, then pick anything that you have always wanted to do but were scared of taking your chances. Keep trying and working on achieving your goals in life. With an attitude like that, you’ll succeed more often than you might think.

Make sure that the things that you try need not be necessarily significant to others but you. You can take up a new hobby or can just make some commitments to better yourself. Pursue things that you have never tried before. You are sure to be delighted with the results.
