If you want to build muscles, you need to set some goals and commit yourself to them. You have to motivate yourself to be stronger and fitter apart from following a healthy diet and an exercise regime.

1. Maintain a food journal

You must maintain a food journal so that you can keep track of the amount of calories you are getting. Working out won’t result in muscle gain unless you are having the right amount of calories.

2. Compound Exercises

If you want to build muscles, you must do compound exercises such as squat, dead lift, row, press and chin-up. These exercises result in muscle gain.

3. 8-9 hours of sleep

You need to sleep well when you are doing a lot of exercises because your body needs adequate rest. Therefore, you must give yourself 8-9 hours of sleep.

4. Increase your protein intake

You must increase your protein intake for building muscles. Protein is a great nutrient that stimulates the growth of muscles in our body. You should particularly consume animal proteins such as beef and egg as they are complete proteins containing all the amino acids.

5. Eat well after training

After your workout, you need to have a good meal. You should have a healthy meal rich in protein and carbohydrate just after training.
