Well, choosing to have a career after marriage is entirely a matter of choice. Whether you choose career or marriage should ideally depend upon your priorities. However, it has been quite common for women to give up on their career for settling down with a life-partner. Apparently, this calls for a truckload of compromises and might not be on the acceptable terms for the girl.
While enlisting the various other things which women are required to give up for marriage, here is why women should not give up their career for marriage.

When you have a career after marriage, not only you get financially independent, you also get a hold on every aspect of your life. You do not have to be entirely dependent upon your partner or his family for the mundane things, and you can easily make your own decisions.

While you are earning for yourself, you can spend your money wherever you like without being answerable to anyone. You can buy any number of gifts that you want to for your family and can invest your savings wherever you like if you have a career after marriage.

Having a career and income of your own implies that you do not have to worry about your future. No matter how worse things get in the coming times, it will always be easier to deal with it when you have a career after marriage.
#4. A Sense Of Identity
When you give up your career after marriage, you also let go of a part of your identity and are restricted to that of your partner’s identity. On the other hand, pursuing your career after marriage will provide you with a sense of self and shape your future in a better way.

Your social interaction gets limited when you do not prioritize your career over marriage. You tend to lose contact with your colleagues and friends, and your social life is reduced to your family alone. Moving with the pace of the society is another reason why women should pick career over marriage.

Not only does a woman gradually lose touch with her family, she also begins to give up her old friends after marriage. With a tremendous amount of change and so much to juggle, it becomes nearly impossible to stay in touch with your friends and family.

Another thing that women tend to give up after marriage besides a career is their lifestyle. You simply cannot maintain the same lifestyle you used to before marriage. Your routine undergoes a drastic change, and you have a whole new set of things to worry about when you are married.

We all crave for some me time which we use to relax, clear our head, or catch up on the pop-culture. However, while you are trying to make peace with the drastic change in your life, it is nearly impossible to find out some time for yourself when you are married.
#4. Hobbies
Besides everything else, your hobbies are also compromised with, when you are married. Marriage leaves no room and time for pursuing your hobbies which you used to follow passionately. It can be attributed to circumstantial factors that you are gradually conditioned into your new lifestyle, and give up on those activities which used to be your daily ritual.
