The controversy over the ‘aazan’ remarks of Sonu Nigam is not going to die down soon. Sonu Nigam shaved his head in protest against a fatwa which a Muslim cleric in West Bengal had issued against him. The Muslim cleric had offered Rs 10 Lakh to anyone who would shave off the head of Sonu and parade him across the country with a garland of old shoes.
Nigam took to twitter to react back and said that Aalim would be coming to his home at 2 pm to shave off the head of Sonu. He also asked the cleric to keep Rs 10 Lakh ready. The singer then called hair stylist Aalim Hakim to his home and shaved off his head on live television.
Sonu Nigam also sent a social message and said that the person shaving his head is a Muslim and he being a Hindu did not have any animosity with anyone. Later Sonu Nigam called a press conference and said that a Muslim had shaved off his head and the issue is not about religious animosity but only about perceiving things in the correct manner.
The cleric has not reacted to this latest move of Sonu Nigam and it will be interesting to see which way this fight now goes.

Yes I think Sonu Nigam made a strong statement on his democratic right. He has all the freedom to express his opinion. He tweeted against noise pollution caused by religious places such as mosques, temples and gurudwaras. He didn't had any intentions to hurt anyone's religious feelings. But since he used azaan in mosque first he was attacked and abused by trolls and so called liberals.
A Maulvi from West Bengal issued a fatwa and announced a prize of 10 lakh rupees for any person who shaves the head of Sonu Nigam. The maulvi got a checkmate from Sonu Nigam who agreed to shave his head and asked maulvi to keep the amount ready for the one who will shave his head.
According to me, this was the best way to reply maulvi.
May be, Sonu Nigam had done right by shaving his head...
