New mothers should eat healthy after the baby is born. It will help them recover from labor. A balanced diet will help you produce breast milk. You and your baby need a healthy, nutritious diet. Here are some Superfoods for new mothers.

Oatmeal.

Oatmeal is rich in fiber. It helps for new mothers who are suffering from constipation. Oatmeal is rich in iron and helps to cope up anemia or blood loss. Oatmeal increases breast milk supply.

Spinach.

Spinach, is rich in vitamin A. It also contains folic acid. Folic acid aids in production of new blood cells. It boosts milk production as well. It is a good source of calcium and Vitamin C. Mothers recovering from C-section should consume Spinach.

Legumes.

Legumes are rich in protein content and iron. It is a great choice for nursing mothers.

Milk.

Milk stimulates breast milk production. It is rich in calcium and vitamins. If you or your baby is having a milk protein intolerance, stop consuming milk.

Almonds.

Almonds are rich in vitamin E an omega-3 fatty acids. It helps in increasing milk supply. You should eat 4 to 6 almonds daily.

Fenugreek.

Water.

Nursing mothers are prone to dehydration. Drink plenty of juices, milk and water.
