What is more Valuable in Life: Time or Money?

What should you choose in life first; Time or Money? This is an endless debate. Many scholars and philosophers have presented their dilemmas regarding this issue. However, it is still proved to be a dilemma. The answer is not so painfully obvious. You never know how circumstances will oblige you to choose time over money or money over time. Some people choose large bank balance over some meaningful experience. Time gives us the opportunity to have those meaningful experiences, however money finances those experiences for us. Whereas, this is an open-ended question which is solved differently by the different individual. Time is our life and money keeps us alive.

Some people look at their bank balances with great attention, however, some people take time as more valuable than even gold. There is no denying the fact that both are the incredibly valuable resource.  

Time VS Money

There is always an argument that is put forward that you can’t buy time with money. Whereas, with time you can make more money. However, without enough money, no one can use that time in a good manner. People don't take time as they take money. You cannot make the best use of the time if you don’t have money and vice versa you cannot use money efficiently if you don’t have time. You can not master your skills if you don’t have enough time to carve them. Whereas, if you can’t make money of those skills then there is no use of investing so much of time in acquiring those skills which are not enough to earn money. Time is the wheel of a long life, money is, however, can convert that wheel into a gold one.

When Money Is More Important

Everything in your life can be related directly or indirectly to money. There is not even a single thing in life which is not affected by money. In the current times, it is extremely important to be financially stable. No matter how hard you try, but money will and is affecting every single thing in your life. If we talk about meaningful experiences which time may provide us, that teaches you a lot. However, if you are sad or under depression, you would prefer being sad in a hut or in a mansion. What would you choose? Of course, money can’t buy happiness. But, it can indeed make the hard time a lot easier and efficient to pass. Money affects:

#1. Work

If you have more money there are better chances of working at better places. If you are lucky enough, then you will have enough experience that will help you get settled in a better place. More money lets you explore better workplaces and settle for the best for you, not the average.

#2. Family

Having a financially secure background ensures you have a happy and satisfied family. Also, if your family needs anything which can make them happy or content, you can easily provide. The kids will grow happier and healthier. You will be able to provide them with best opportunities to study and groom up as a great and successful human being.

#3. Relationships

These days relationships are more materialistic and money related though. However, if you love someone and want to make them happy you can. A beautiful gift or surprise will never disappoint your partner. You, of course, need money for doing that. Money also makes it easy to have a healthier and sorted relationship.

#4. Satisfaction or dissatisfaction

Satisfactions and dissatisfactions are very closely related to money and pleasure. The things which can make us happy or the vacations which can provide peace and happiness can be possessed with money without any doubt. The argument that money can’t buy you happiness is totally abandoned by this above example.

#5. Happiness

Anyone can go on from here. As we discussed in the previous point, money is capable of buying happiness. There are people for whom happiness is traveling or probably luxuries, great clothes, and fashion accessories. These things can be easily attained by money. Travelling and getting what you want can give you peace and happiness surely.

#6. Life, In Short

If you don’t have money in your life, life comes under misery. Having enough time in your hand and not having money can be a great disappointment. Not being financially stable can cause a lot of tension in the whole life. It can make life full of tensions and problems. Money is certainly capable of lessening a lot of problems related to life.

When Time Is More Important

People waste their time in earning money and they don’t have enough time to spend it to be happy. Some think that the richest people are the happiest, however, they are not. More money makes you more insecure. Even if you look at someone’s accomplishments, they do not come to them overnight. They must have to spend a considerable amount of time to acquire such skills and money. If you have time you can achieve anything if you have the will to achieve that. Let’s take the example of Dr. Faustus who choose black magic over time, who was begging for time to Lucifer while being damned. Therefore, don’t lose time over money.

#1. Time Is Limited, Money Is Not

Not putting money down by any means, however, not to forget time is limited with every individual. In fact, we never know we drop down and be dead tomorrow. Every human being who has this realized this treats time as the most precious thing. You may love someone or something, but time decides how much moments will you get with them. So time is a precious thing.

#2. Learning Is More Important Than Bank Balance

Life is learning a process, that too continuously. In itself, it has the capability of teaching you a dozen things in a fraction of seconds. You can learn and experience every new moment if you have ‘time’ not money. There are thousands of learning opportunities if you explore. But in order to explore them, you need time in your hand.

#3. Time Is Needed To Spend Money

You may be a millionaire and have all the money in the world. However, time can never be bought with more money. If you don't have enough time, there will no use of being a millionaire. The most valuable resource currently is money. Destiney cannot be bought with even a million dollar. Time is an incredible equalizer.

#4. Even Millionaires Can't Escape Death

These words are the crux of everything why time is so important. The end of our time can meet us at any time. We are never sure how many times we have. Even if you were a millionaire, you can never escape death. It is inevitable and more money will not make it any sooner or later.

#5. Time Brings Real Memories And Happiness

It is worth noting that only time is capable of providing you memories and happiness both that money can’t give you surety of. Most of the people will be ready to compromise to have quality time with their loved ones over luxuries and comfort.

#6. Time Is A Great Healer, Again, Money Is Not

In the end, money can never ease your pain and grief. It takes more time to be able to earn perspective. Time makes you realize your weaknesses and strengths. There is no contest between money and time in this aspect. However, it is the time which can provide you strength to get over your pain.
