Do you find yourself wishing to attain perfection in everything you do? Has it been impossible for do something without attaining perfection, even if it was a learning experience?
If you are someone who has been finding it hard to accomplish a lot of work because of your habit of being a perfectionist, you will be able to identify the above-mentioned issues. If being a perfectionist is a way of life for you, you are either very accomplished in what you do or you may be encountering a massive problem in making progress with a lot of things in life. The thing about being a perfectionist is you may be experiencing all the awesome benefits of being one or you may be facing all the adversities of being a perfectionist.
A perfectionist is someone who gives major attention to the details of the kind of work they are doing and makes sure all of the things are done without any mistakes. It is not about doing the task without making any mistakes, for them it is about producing the best quality of work possible. It is not about performing better than others, for every perfectionist it is about doing the best possible work, irrespective of what the others are doing. They do not set a standard for themselves; they tend to aim for the best and the highest standard possible. This is what separates any perfectionist from other higher achievers. They do not compete to be the best among the lot; they work to produce the best possible version of the work ever possible.

If you are a perfectionist, you always tend to do your best and make all possible efforts to ensure you are able to perform your best. It is impossible for any perfectionist to act lazy and not do something with complete attention and keep all the details in mind. This is the reason they always end up doing their best when it comes to accomplishing any given task.
It is not an option for them to renounce their struggle for making the work they are doing the best possible version. This is the main reason any perfectionist will always do their best.

#2. You Are Far More Accomplished In Comparison To Others Of Your Age
It is due to their habit of exploring beyond what is just enough and their urge to make things the best; they tend to try their hands in a lot of activities. They tend to do a lot more in comparison to what the people are doing. This is something that gives them an edge over the others and makes them overachievers.
These people are the ones who accomplish far more than what is expected from them or people their age, their constant effort to be the best version of themselves often makes them far more accomplished in comparison to many. The fact that they do not follow any set standard set by the society, often make it possible for them to keep pushing themselves to the extent they wish to achieve.
#3. You Excel In Each Thing You Take Up
If you are perfectionist, it will be easy for you to exhibit all the qualities that are going to be essential for doing your best in any field you choose to work in and even all your personal projects. Such people are able to be patient, they are determined; they are persistent and never give up no matter what. Such people are not lazy and do not do anything half-heartedly. They tend to be the best version of themselves in each aspect of life. They make sure they give their best to all the work they are involved in.
These qualities are often hard for people to exhibit, but anyone who is a perfectionist is able to do these easily. Thus, it becomes possible for them to excel in all that they do.

People who are perfectionists are the ones who are able to gain success in most of the things they tend to take up because they make sure they are doing the task in the best possible way. They are the ones who will not need any kind push in order to make sure they give their best. They will not be satisfied with their work unless they have done it to perfection.
#1. Waste A Lot Of Time
People who are perfectionists tend to end up spending a lot of time and often are not able to accomplish a large amount of work in a given period of time. This is because they are not satisfied with what they have done until it is absolutely perfect.
Sometimes it is essential to understand that it is not always possible for everyone to do each thing assigned to them with perfection. Some things need daily practice and constant focus in order to become perfect. There things that will require you to begin anyway and reach perfection during the journey.
The inability to begin and keep learning can prove to be a very negative thing for all those who look at perfection in each thing they choose to do. Please understand at times it is important to make a significant amount of progress and not focus on perfection.

#2. Are Mostly Unhappy
People who focus on perfection are often very unhappy with most of the things in their life. All those things that do not turn out perfect and all those aspects in them that they do not feel are perfect make them unhappy. We are all aware of the idea that it is impossible for all the things to be perfect in our life. We also know the fact that none of us are perfect human beings. These are simple facts of life, but perfectionists are so compelled to make sure each thing they do is on point, that anything other than perfect is just not what they can accept.
This is why they are mostly unhappy with a lot of things. A lot of times these are trivial things that do not make a lot of difference in our life, but the fact that they look for everything to be the best, the moment they are not able to attain the kind of standard they are looking for, they tend to remain unhappy. Each time the outcome is not the same as the kind of vision they are having in mind, they tend to become unhappy and remain discontent.
For them, it is as if there was more they could have done to make the outcome better, but because they could not do their best, the outcome was not up to the mark.
#3. Not Able To Keep A Balance In Life
Perfectionists can be so obsessed with the work in hand and do those keeping all the details in mind; this is something that can become a kind of obsession for these people. At times they tend to devote too much of time and energy to the task and are not able to give the required amount of time to all those tasks that are equally essential for living a balanced life.
These people are often found ignoring their health and their family because they can become so obsessed with the work of hand that it becomes impossible for them to move on to taking proper care of all the other aspects of their life. They may also end up hampering their relationships because of the inability to accept things in their simple and flawed version. Some things are not required to be perfect; it is just enough that we have them.

#4. Not Able To Just Let Go
There are somethings or incidents in life where we cannot control the outcome, where we just have to let go and focus on the possible outcome. We cannot impact or take charge of each and everything in life, in those moments we just have to let go of all those things we are not able to impact. It is in these cases these people are not able to detach themselves from the outcome.
This will surely negatively impacts them and are the cause of a lot of anxiety and stress in their regular life. Small things can become the cause of some unnecessary discontent and unhappiness in life.
