CBSE Class 10th Result Likely To Be Declared This Week

Students who appeared for their 10th board exam in 2017 can finally take a sigh of relief as their 10th standard Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results are most likely to be announced within a day. The results got delayed because of a high court ruling and CBSE had to adhere to it.

Exam results can be checked on the official CBSE website cbse.nic.in or cbseresults.nic.in

The exam results were withheld after the Delhi High Court passed an order on May 24th asking the CBSE board to re-evaluate the papers according to the marks moderation policy. Following this rule, CBSE has to check the papers of students and award them grace marks in case they are falling short of a few marks and are unable to clear the exams. This decision can be an important deciding factor for students who had underperformed in some of their exams, as it would help them sail smoothly to the next session.

The decision which was appreciated by a certain section of the students was not favorable to CBSE as it meant rechecking papers under different criteria and they had sought legal opinion on whether or not to challenge this decision by the High Court. Though, this would have further delayed the result and adversely impacted the school education of students who were preparing to begin their next session. Since the board decided not to approach the Supreme Court to challenge the decision of the High Court, 12th board results were declared on May 28th.

Almost 14,99,066 students appeared for the 10th CBSE board exam for the 2016-17 session.

Yes

Still, in India seats are allotted in colleges and high school on the basis of marks. Some do take entrance test buts that are just an eyewash.
